The Big Booper Posted January 23, 2011 #176 Share Posted January 23, 2011 The room configurations on Oasis/Allure work like on the Celebrity Solstice class ships with alternating layouts. If you look at any picture of the cabins you will see that the cabin is wider where the bed is. This allows them to squeeze more cabins into a row of cabins since each one interlocks with its matching neighbor.

MIcruiser99 Posted January 23, 2011 #178 Share Posted January 23, 2011 As a side note, at what age are kids allowed in the solarium? I know small children aren't, but I have a 17 and 20 yr old who like to chill with a good book or Ipad? I think age 16 and older are allowed in the solarium. I don't think I have noticed that before, but now that you say it, and I see the picture, it makes perfect sense. I think I would prefer the bed near the balcony, but it works out to be the exact same square footage no matter the configuration.
atush Posted January 23, 2011 #180 Share Posted January 23, 2011 Kids must be 16 or older for the Solarium. . . Radio ;);) . Thanks radio. Should i bring them they are good to go at 17-20 (and quiet- don't panic lol).
MyrtleBeachRCIcruiser Posted January 23, 2011 #181 Share Posted January 23, 2011 I read in another post that the flavored water was in the Windjammer. Regardless, still a nice addition.:) The flavored water was offered in the Windjammer, and the Solarium Bistro I believe. Also, there is fresh squeezed orange juice offered in the Windjammer for a charge of like $3.95 per glass!!
negc Posted January 23, 2011 #182 Share Posted January 23, 2011 You mentioned about room configuration reversed,we had bed next to closet but have heard seems like more roomy with bed next to balcony. What do you think  When we were on Oasis and had an opportunity to visit other cabins, it did seem that the cabins that had the bed next to the balcony were roomier. One of the nicer things about similar rooms on Allure was the fact the they have moved the beds which are next to the closet, several inches making the closets easier to access. They also added more storage space in the closet and beside the desk. Placing electric outlets on the top of the desk and adding the IPOD docking station with digital clock are other nice additions to Allure.:) Bill
atush Posted January 23, 2011 #183 Share Posted January 23, 2011 How mich is the flavored water? And Trainman says sunny skies so maybe he and his ship will chase the clouds away? ;-)

I believe the same applies to Oasis and Allure and other ships in the fleet.:)

How does one access the closet with that configuration? Wouldn't matter to me as long as I would be on the ship :D Radio, post on! I'm forgetting which thread I'm on. I keep switching back and forth between yours and Trainman's :)

Rare Radio Posted January 24, 2011 Author #192 Share Posted January 24, 2011 Hello everyone. . . I had a long day today, but it was worth it. My next class isn’t until Friday. I was hoping that the sun would show her glory today, but that wasn’t the case. . . No worries, we still have a lot of days left, and I’m sure the weather will cooperate with all 6300 passengers that are sailing this week on Oasis of the Seas. I was able to watch most of the Fountain Show, back in the Aqua Theater, and I was able to take part in Trivia at the Schooner Bar (DECK 6). I had a great lunch today in Central Park Café, and enjoyed a very nice Cuban Sandwich. . . Mmmm, I love those. . .especially with a cup of Starbucks. The Aqua Show was cancelled last night, and I hope they will be able to do the show tonight. . . But it is much more windy tonight, so we will just have to wait. If the show is cancelled, I will just be forced to go down to Casino Royale, and spend a little time. The Casino has been very “Radio Friendly” so far. It seems that the nightly Diamond event will now be in Blaze for the rest of the week. I guess that it was in the Diamond Lounge for the 1st night only. We still have 161nm to go until we get to Labadee, and rain or shine it will be nice to visit one of my favorite ports. Of course my preference would be for blue skies, and a warm breeze. . .(If I had a choice) Here are a few pics from today. . . I can tell you that my list of pics to post includes every public area. . . I should be able to get to them all this week. . .at least I will try. Thanks for all of the nice comments, and thanks for tuning in ! Radio Aqua Theater Fountain show It was a beautifully choreographed show with great music. . . A view of the show from the walkway behind the stage. Thanks newsier you were right about the lighting above the Aquatheater The Aqua Theater Suites (3) have huge decks (except for the lowest and top 2 which are public) The stairwell from Deck 15-Deck 16 between the Centrum Elevators . Rare Radio Posted January 24, 2011 Author #193 Share Posted January 24, 2011 Here are a few more. . . I will be up bright and early tomorrow from Labadee ! Radio ;) A view of the Viking Crown Lounge from Deck 15 A view of the Sports Pool and Sky Bridge from Deck 16 All Diamond members will go to Blaze for the Nightly Diamond event The On-Air Club (shown) and all lounges seemed to be packed with football fans watching the playoffs. The Captains Reception in the Royale Promenade was packed ! .
The Big Booper Posted January 24, 2011 #194 Share Posted January 24, 2011 The problem with the cabin design on all the new RC/X ships is that the sliding doors face into the cabin and not the passageway like all the older ships. Either a couch or bed is pushed up against the closet door making it hard to squeeze in and get to it. Look at this picture and then find similar shots for the Oasis

Wonder why they would put the closet facing that way.....doesn't make sense and it looks pretty tight.

The couch is huge and takes up lots of room. Oasis class and S class have this layout, the wave of the future.
