Hmmmmmm...

Going to be hard to keep my wife from really wanting to be on this one...

Her school district is changing calendars in 2012-2013 from September-June to August-May, so we're going to have a shortened vacation window...likely only the month of July...and this one fits in...

We were in Geiranger, Olden, Bergen on Constellation a few years back...But Iceland is one of those countries I visited before I met her...and she's never been to...So, she'll look at this cruise as an opportunity to add one to her list!

...and, I've got more than enough frequent flier miles on British Airways for two free round trips...

But, we'll wait a bit and see what else is on the schedule for July 2012...

Still wondering why they do not do any British Isles. Been waiting for them to decide on these, so I guess PRINCESS it is!!!!:cool:

Stories have Reflection coming to South Hampton. There is still the possibility. Be patient

caripoo,

We've done one "British Isles" cruise...but we've seen far more of Britain by car...

Here's my advice: Skip the British Isles cruise...Instead book a cruise to more exotic ports FROM Southampton or Dover...ports that are harder to reach by car or train...Then schedule a week or so of "pre-cruise" and hire a car...Drive around the British Isles...You'll be amazed at how easy it is to get to most places...Then, jump on the cruise to somewhere else and relax...

Note: One cruise, we did an 8 night post-cruise...Drove up to Bath, then Northern Wales, a couple of nights in Sterlingshire, Scotland and a drive up to Loch Ness, down through York to Stratford-Upon-Avon to London...

This last summer, we did a 9-night night pre-cruise...went from Heathrow --one night in Windsor, then three nights in Falmouth, Cornwall...two nights in Torquay, two nights in Poole, a night in Southampton before boarding the ship...then, after the cruise, we spent two nights in London...

This coming August, we're flying in four nights early hiring a car and using Canterbury as a base to visit the Southeast...

If you want to visit Ireland, that's a short hop by plane or ferry as well...

Use the cruise to go to places far between and difficult to reach...

JMHO...

You know me. I like getting this info out there for the X lovers. It's taken a few years, but people have stopped questioning me. You are welcome

I know and I also know sometimes the thanks are lacking.

I saw your Bermuda/Canada sailings on the other thread. Trying

to figure out if I can do a longer cruise. The ones that go to Halifax,

Quebec, etc. look so good to me.

If the heart wants it enough, you will find a way.

That's the reason I'm heading to Hawaii. I didn't know if I could do that long of a cruise, but the wife's heart wanted it enough. I guess I'll just have to suffer.

I will have to see about pricing. Remember, I have to pay double:rolleyes:

Hi Rick. Have a great voyage. Tell us about it. We were there on NCL Pride of America. Irinerary was great, but the ship wasn't. Enjoyed your family's company on the last cruise.

Are you thinking about sailing on the Eclipse? We are going on the Connie reunion cruise to the Carribbean next Saturday.

Go Steelers! (if there is a next season).

It would be nice if X did more with single supplements. A lot of lines make it tough to want to vacation on your own

That's why we are doing Golden Princess. An actual cruise as opposed to a floating hotel.

We played with the idea of the EC for next winter, but the itinerary was just weak. We've booked the Mariner instead. Great prices and we are so close to Diamond Plus. We book a JS for double credits.

We were originally scheduled to do the Connie over last Thanksgiving, but Kathy's schedule didn't work out and we ended up on the EQ instead. Great price, great cruise. Would love to sail on her Eastern run next

Well, we only know something about the Europe cruises on Celebrity Eclipse ;) !!

I think that Constellation also operates in Northern Europe in 2012 - maybe Constellation is doing British Isles!

I think these ships will join Europe in 2012:

C. Silhouette: Mediterranean

C. Eclipse: Northern Europe, Mediterranean, Canary Is.

C. Equinox: Mediterranean

C. Solstice: Mediterranean

C. Constellation: Northern Europe, Mediterranean.

Maybe also the Reflection comes to Europe - depends on the delivery date ;)

I can't wait!!!!! :D

Bruinsteve I know the thought of Princess!!!! Years ago we had planned a British Isles trip for 3 weeks on land and ended up in Greece, Turkey, Italy, on land and cruise instead. That being said, our travel buddies now find that 3 weeks on land alone in qand out of cars, trains, ferries, and planes will be to much. The ease of a cruise for the "taste" of the Isles will work better for them. So thats what we are looking at. Hoping that Celebrity will look at Princess itinieries and do some of the same and we can add some land as well!!:D:D Looking for August of 2012 so the hubbies can do the Tattoo in Scotland!!

Hi Rick,:) they did just have 4 pages on the Tues/Wed specials and many

of them were 150%--175% SS which is quite good.

I was looking at the cruises I mentioned for Sept 2012 and they are

2 weeks. Prices have not been released yet. It would take a lot of

planning and ALOT of saving.
