Thank you for a wonderful review.

If I were the parents knowing that in Rome, from port to city take 2.0 hours train ride, I would probably book the excursion through the ship just to be on the safe side.

The blood pressure and heart medications would have cost more than excursion booked through the ship!!!!

I do like to ask you a question: What kind of camera are you using? I may have missed it if you stated before:o but please do tell! Thanks

Hmmm, this might surprise you, but, I was using a simple point and shoot.

I bought it in Miami, in Febuary for $220

This review and the pictures are amazing-thank you-I sail on the Magic two weeks from tomorrow. I have a question--how did you order the Foster's? I went on the Bon Voyage site on Carnival and they don't list beer or liquer.

Spend most of the day on Lido deck in the shade.

We chose those as we were a bit tired of the heat and sun and we wanted one day in the shade.

But as this was first full day at sea, it was terrible for a chair hogs. It was crazy; people were getting up like 6 in the morning to get a chair. In front of us (we were at the very back row, as this was the only one all day in a shade) was a woman in her 60-ies who manically was reserving 12 chairs or as long as possible.

Now, if these people would get there within an hour since she sat there holding all chairs – that would be fine. But some of them arrived at 12 o’clock, which was ridiculous. We were there since 7:30 watching. At some stage I figured out what this old lady is doing and after like hour or so waiting when I saw more and more people passing by, I just jumped and took away few towels this lady rented and placed earlier to reserve. I returned them to the towel shut and girl who works there thank me for that. The places I “freed” were quickly taken by a very happy people.

This morning also, as this was a sea day, John had his Morning Show, this time with Calvyn. You can’t miss that!!! These two are hilarious. If you like my sense of humour, these two are much better. People were crying laughing at them.

Tonight was first and the only elegant night. So we dressed up and went to deck 5 to meet the Capitan….and John again. We took pictures with them and head straight to the dining room.

Now…..lobster! – It Wasn’t too good. :(

On the previous cruises lobsters were much better, but this one just didn’t do. DG ordered duck, as she doesn’t eat sea food, but she also didn’t like this duck. According to her duck was too juicy and looked not fully cooked.

At this same time we didn’t want to complain and make too much fuss, so we eat a little of what we got.

That night there was a 70’s show in a main Show Theatre. Was very good. DG admired all dancers, as they were not only dancing, but also acting on the stage. Very good.

Then we went to 2 comedy shows: Chas Elsner (who we saw on Miracle already) and Percy Crews.

Chas, even though he was doing exactly same show like last year on Miracle, it was still very funny.

We even “took” his joke from Miracle cruise in Oct 2010 about “drinky boozie”. We don’t call drinks other than that since then. Percy was very good, DG enjoyed him more.

Now, we met John Heald again….

Now, if you read what I wrote about him earlier, you will know what I think about him.

So, we met briefly, and, he remembered us, as we spoke to him a few nights earlier.

He told me, that the spoke to the woman in question ( the young girl) that would not keep quite during the shows, and, he asked her to keep it down etc….

First thought that went through my head was…. Great….

And, about a second later, I thought, Hmmmm. There are 4600 people on this ship, and, as I never showed him, or pointed her out, how did he know which woman it was ???

And, as luck would have it, that evening, during the show, you guessed it, we sat very close to them again…. And, of course, that were talking non stop…. And, as you all know, once you notice something, it is difficult to not notice it….

So, I was thinking, Did John lie to us? Or, did he spoke to some other woman…. Or, did he spoke to them, and they did not care….

But, after a while, I think John was just doing that any Manager that works with the public would do.

He told me, the customer, what I wanted to hear.

Although it was not the truth, If I was in the same position as him, I would tell the guest the same thing, as, what are the chances, that we would sit next to them, or close to them again, as there are so many people on board….

But, does that mean I don’t like him?

Actually, by doing that, he showed us that, although he is soooooo busy with so much, he took the time to “deal” with our little problem.

So, I will defiantly cruise with him again.

Second Last Sea Day

We decided to go to Serenity for the last two sea days. We were wise enough by then to go early, otherwise you won’t get a chair. Well, that was my thinking anyway….

So I went at 7:20, DG joined shortly after that.

Guess what, all cabanas were taken. And, buy that, I mean, 20% of them had people in, the rest, just belongings.

So, we just took 2 lounge chairs. And waited, as , I know of the 30 min rule.

Right beside us was a Russian woman. She came and went, She reserved, two cabanas, ahammock, and 4 chairs.

So, I was waiting 30 min in the morning until I could take over one of the cabanas or hammock.

But when I went to security, girl said, they has to wait 40 minutes of no show up before they remove anything.

So I waited another 10 minutes as and went to the girl again, it turns out she got replaced by different guy and since his shift starts only now, everything gets reset. That made me really pissed off. AS, the new pool attendant said, as he just started his shift, he have to re-check everything. And, he said, what if they are stuck in a queue waiting for breakfast or something?

And, to make things even more ridiculous, on Serenity, there is a “rule” that only Carnival Staff may remove stuff from chairs.

Some kind woman, saw us waiting, ans she also mentioned that those chairs the woman was keeping, were not even used once all morning.

But, she said, they are leaving in a few min, and we could take her cabanna.

This sign, should be translated into more languages on a European Cruise. IF they can Translate the Fun Times into 10 languages per cruise, why not this one ?
