The tree with the large pods looks like a poinciana tree. They are just beautiful when the flowers are in full bloom.

I'm sure you are right, I didn't think to ask the tour guide, oops. Just thought they were really neat looking.

After we finished watching the pilot boat leave, we just sat & enjoyed the balcony for about another 10 min. Then we went by the photo gallery to pick up some pictures that we had reprints made & by the shop so mom could purchase some rum to take back home to my dad. We then headed back to the cabin to shower & dress for dinner. When we arrived at dinner, everyone was here tonight. We found out the other 2 didn't come to dinner the night before because the daughter didn't realize about Elegant night & she didn't feel comfortable coming in her casual attire.

Mom: Starter was the field of green salad & also fried shrimp, Jerk pork loin with fried rice, WCMC & Coffee for dessert.

Me: I had the fried shrimp as the starter, Jerk pork loin with fried rice & the shrimp & fries, & butter pecan ice cream for dessert.

Can't say it enough, but we really enjoyed all our table mates. We all had some great laughs & also enjoyed discussing our time in port.

Your welcome. And welcome to Cruise Critic! Yes, carnival.com is free when on board. Make sure you sign up with the website before you leave & also sign up on the FunVille section on Carnival's website. Once you sign up there, you go to the forums & there will be a section with the title 'Currently Onboard'. There you will just start a thread. It is a public forum though, so just remember to keep that in mind. We used initials, etc. but were able to 'leave messages' for each other which makes it nice & it's free which is a bonus. Just make sure, before you walk away from the computers on the ship, to sign out. :) Hope that helps, let me know if you have any further questions.

After we finished up at dinner, we stopped by the cabin so we could sit out on the balcony. So peaceful & relaxing, we both could spend lots of time there. :) After a little while, we headed to the Blue Sapphire Lounge to watch the Game Show Trivia, which was of course, too funny. We also stayed & watched the 2 Bingo games, even though we weren't playing, & then watched the 1st couple of people singing for the Talent Show. We left there & headed back towards the aft, lido, for the late night buffet for a very small snack before heading back to the cabin for the night. We both were tired & into bed earlier for sure. Cozumel up next.

Tonight's towel animal.

Tuesday, Sept. 6th, Cozumel

We woke up around 7:30, dressed & went out to the balcony to watch us come into Cozumel.

It was a little after 8:00 at this point, so mom & I headed to the MDR for breakfast.

I had my usual (I love the french toast), French toast & bacon with hash browns. Mom had a belgian waffle & bacon today. Once we were done with breakfast, we went back to the cabin to get the camera & money so we could get off the ship & go shopping there at the pier area.

I'm really enjoying your review, and your photos are excellent! Thanks again for sharing! How many nights did they have comedians? Happy Belated Birthday!

Thanks so much! There were 2 nights with the comedians, multiple show times. We only ended up going the 1 time though.

Here's the store that you go through to get into the shopping area at Puerta Maya. When DH & I were there in October, they were still building it.

To the left, there is a small area of sand with beach chairs for relaxing. So beautiful. Took this picture from there.

Okay, back in the groove some now, I didn't feel well today & spent most of the day on the couch & even took a 2 hr nap! Which is not like me at all, LOL!

So here's more....

There at the very end of the area, outside Pancho's Backyard, there was one of the men feeding some iguanas what looked like sliced red bell pepper.

Now we have full tummy's, it was a little after noon. We made a few more stops for buying some ankle bracelets & Mom picked up some different liquor to take back to Dad & some friends.

Going back to the ship, a few shots.

We decided to head back to the ship about 12:30. We went to the cabin & dropped off all our goodies, got a drink & went to the Internet Cafe to check in with the family. We decided to walk around the ship some more, to some of the spots we hadn't been yet.
