How do you sneek a peek at Pearl's Haven

If I understand correctly, you need a special card in the elevators to get to the Haven suites? Isn't there any stairs or are those card controlled too? If this is the case how would potential future bookers get to see it? Do they unlock the elevators during debarkation or is there a "Haven Tour" during the week?

Try this link or this one for garden villa pics. These are provided by cruisedeckplans.

It asks for a user name or pasword at that site, but I appreciate you taking the time to post the links.

LadyShiva, the Youtubes are like watching the travel channel, not the same as getting the feel of being there in person, so I can understand folk wanting to take a peek to see if they want to book in the future. However, it beats barging in on someone or trying to time getting a peek after its empty and before getting kicked off the ship.

Yes the door on the stairs to the 14th floor is also locked and controlled by keycard.

I'm sure if you hung around the door/in the elevator long enough someone else using their keycard would come along though!

Ah. So piggybacking is alive and well. I can't imagine anyone telling a fellow pax not to stay on the elevator or not to enter a stairwell.

Thanks all for the informative reponses.

it is a private area. If you were a haven guest I am sure you would enjoy the serenity of that privacy. But it is human nature to be curious. Totally understand. I really did not know that area even existed when I sailed on the Jewel in 2005 but my mom I and met two gentlemen at our pre-cruise hotel and we enjoyed their company and spent some time with them. They had us up to their suite for lunch one day. They explained it was ok to just give us a quick tour of the common areas, but anything more was disrespectful to villa guests. It really was lovely. I must say after hearing about ALL the suite and villa perks led us to book our aft suite on the Sun. Perhaps someone on your roll call or at your M&G will be booked in the Haven and will be kind enough to show you and others who are curious that lovely area.

We met an officer on the Jewel at the M&G that took us up to the Haven which was pretty neat. We couldn't see the rooms but the pool area was

pretty cool.

Then we found out that it can cost up to 6000 p/p and laughed all the way downstairs. No wonder the country is broke.

Last year on the Epic we got see all the different cabins. We did it on the roll call.

We call it Cabin Crawl. See if you can get a different cabin selection from all CC members. I'am sure their are others C.C. would love to joined you and offer their cabin for other to see.

Then make a list of all the cabin # that you will be seeing.

We then pick a day at sea to do the crawl We all meet at a bar to go in a group. Hand out copies of all the cabin you planned to visit. So in case the group get lost.

Or it can cost no more than an upper end balcony if you book the right suite at the right time with the right promotion and right discount. Ours came out less expensive for a 7 day cruise than our low-end balcony on a 7 day Disney cruise, or the low-end suite on 5 day RCL.

Having just sailed with NCL in The Haven, NCL has secured our cruise vacations going forward and we'll now sail only if we can get a suite in The Haven.

I'm sorry but I find that reprehensible. No wonder children run wild with little respect for others' privacy.

:) Yes that did appear to be an interesting (to say the least) way to approach seeing it. If I wanted to see it bad enough I would choose one of 2 options. Wait on the ship at the end of the cruise and ask if I could see it, while it was unoccupied. Or join my roll call and hope for a cabin crawl (as 228thstreet suggested) and hope someone was in one.

Not everyone is paying "top dollar" for Haven suites, with upsells and even the occasional upgrades, it is possible to get into one at a reasonable rate.

If you're interested I have some pics of the Gem's Courtyard and our cabin (2 bedroom) from our TA last year. The link is in my signature line.

We provided a tour for our Meet & Greet members. You do need to use your key card in the elevator to access deck 14 and the door on the stairs also requires a key card to open.

If you are in a suite they held a cocktail party in the courtyard. Anyone in a suite was invited to attend.

I knew someone would be offended! Shame tone of voice isn't clear in text as it was meant firmly tongue in cheek.

However, having just returned from a cruise staying in a haven suite it surprised me how many guests held the door open for others to enter 14th floor, or who got out on that floor from the elevator without using a keycard. So, if desperate I'm sure it's possible but yes also disrespectful, etc etc etc

So true. If you watch availability on NCL's website you'll see that, often times, most of those Haven suites are available until a few days before sailing. They fill them up with upsells. Some lucky people get them for less than you might pay for a lower level suite.

Actually, I've twice had people try to "piggyback" up there and have both times let them know that it was a private area for guests in those cabins. Once, a couple was in the elevator with me. When I inserted my keycard they said something like "Nice, now we get to see the high roller area". The other time, I was going up the stairs and someone asked me to hold the door so that they could check it out". Both times, I let them know that they were free to tour any suite after 8 am on debarkation day.

Also, I have witnessed butlers and room stewards escort people out of the area. They were polite, but it was an embarrassing experience for the "tourists".

If you want to check this area out, please do so in a responsible way. I have a link to my photos below. You can take a tour of the Haven on debarkation day. Watch a video on YouTube. But please, respect your fellow passengers who have paid a premium for a quiet retreat. You might think you're just one or two people, but it's a small area and if everyone tries to sneak up there it really does impact Haven guests. Thanks!
