The Legend Review that I never thought would be posted

Michele, thanks so much for your review. I really enjoyed it and your pics. I haven't spent much time on CC recently, partly because I don't have too much patience for the snarky comments anymore. People should be thankful cruisers like you take the time to post your experiences - and that you took the time to try to make things right on your cruise. It can only benefit us all. We don't spend a lot of time in the casino, but if we didn't get something that we expected (Platinum benefits, for example) and got the feeling Carnival didn't care, it would be disappointing. Customer service won't get any better if no one speaks up.

 

I'm sorry to hear about your Mom; I lost mine last year as well.

 

I find it interesting when I read about the food on Legend. We celebrated our 25th anniversary on that ship, and the dining experience was probably the least favorable out of all our Carnival cruises. And that was just over 5 years ago, so it's a shame they're still challenged in that area. The Steakhouse was fabulous, though.

Thanks for your kind words and condolences. My mom and I were very close and it still seems unbelievable right now. Sounds like you completely understand with the loss of your mom (my condolences to you as well).

I really enjoy writing the reviews but I sometimes need to get thicker skin, cuz it does bother me when people are mean on here. There are weeks at a time when I don't even pull CC up because of some of the comments that I read on other threads (although Hubby still goes on ;))

I'm planning on writing one when we go on the Liberty in March.

I usually sail Princess, but just booked a cruise on Carnival for the fall. Looking forward to trying Carnival again. Haven't sailed with her in over 20 years.:eek:

Thank you so much for posting this. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. It also helped me decide to book the Legend. I had it narrowed down to the legend vs. the liberty but the legend just seems so nice and I want to experience it going under the bridge!

First off i want to say how sorry I am about the loss of your Mom.

I lost my Mom almost 22 years ago and I still miss her so much.I have found that the good/healthy memories are there and that does helps with the loss.

 

Your review was awesome, helpful and quite funny at times. You did the right thing writing about this experience and frankly i can't blame you for being upset.

 

We will be on the Legend in October and hopefully "Grumpy David" is gone.

 

Loved the toes and the "YANKEES" That bag was cool, I have to get one.:D

Thanks! It is a day by day thing with the loss of my mom. We were very close.

We will be on the Legend in September and really do not want to see David again. (I'll bet he doesn't want to see us either :D)

You can get the Yankee bag at mlb.com or amazon might even be cheaper. Hubby got me a replacement and also a cute smaller bag.

I just surprised my with with room 7258. I know she always wanted to try one of these super long balcony's on the legend so I surprised here for v day. We are going to give here another try in Sept 2012. Hopefully this time will be better. Talk soon!!!

We were going to do our renewal of our vows for our 10th anniversary in Sept 2013. Any one have ideas for this since The Legend is going to be else where. Carnical does not have intineraries posted that far out. Just looking for ideas.

Around 2:20pm, I found Brad and we decided to go upstairs to get some lunch. I really wanted a salad, but when we got there, most of the stations were closed. We ended up going to the Deli. Brad got a turkey sandwich and I got a reuben. Both were really, really good. We saw Jimmy & Lillian and they told us about their excursion that they did in Grand Cayman. It was called Explore Cayman by land & sea. They went to the Turtle Farm, which they said was outstanding. They loved being able to hold the turtles. Then they went to Hell, which was small but the rock formations were very interesting. They also went on a semi-submarine and were able to view all kinds of fish and the coral reef. They told us that it was fantastic and well worth the price of $59.95 each.

 

 

This was at 3pm. I asked Jimmy if he was going to be able to eat dinner and he said "dinner's not until 8pm! Of course I'll be able to eat."

 

 

Hmmmmm.....No offense to anyone, and although I have never sailed on Carnival, I have sailed on a dozen other lines, and I have never seen anyone allowed to eat at the buffet or any other INSIDE dining venue without a shirt on. Is that common on Carnival?

No, I can't say that this is something I see. I did not think it was permitted inside, only outside at the pool side tables.

This was not at an inside venue. It was outside next to the pool. Just wondering why this same thing has come up before. My brother would never eat anywhere inside with his shirt off. Nothing wrong with by the pool though.

On a side not we were on the same cruise i did notice a lot of yankees fans (rays fan have been since 98 as well as my girlfriend we were both sporting a lot of Rays gear on the Ship throughout the cruise)

On my last five day cruise I set aside $20 to spend at the casino. I doubled my money and cashed out immediately. So the casino makes no money off of me. However, I'd be upset if I didn't get what was coming to me!

I'm still on the fence with having dinner at the steakhouse. Honestly, I'd do it if I could wear jeans and sneakers:) I hate dressing up.

Appreciate your thoughts about my mom. Still very difficult. I must say that we are both about to jump out of our skin because we are so ready for a vacation. It's been a rough few months.

I can't really advise you on the Steakhouse. How we feel as far as the dress code is just our opinion. We have seen jeans but I think the sneakers would be pushing it a bit. Maybe jeans with a cute pair of pumps or boots. Just sayin... Glad you enjoyed the review.
