IwannaGo Now Posted November 3, 2011 #26 Share Posted November 3, 2011 I'm sorry your cruise didn't provide a good vacation. I know how you feel. Unfortunately the cheer leaders on CC have already blamed you, and I'm sure you'll be told if you didn't enjoy the cruise then you should have gone on another line. I have been on less than excellent.....or even good, cruises. It does happen, although it never used to be that way. Cruising as a whole has deteriorated in the last 5 or so years, as cuts have made cruising "more affordable" for more people. I wish you luck with your next voyage. I have an upcoming cruise with CCL soon....I'm hoping for a pleasant experience.
agc291 Posted November 3, 2011 #27 Share Posted November 3, 2011 #1 Why pick up your phone? #2 Are you sure that you actually requested that they not call you? I asked that and they dont call. #3 You keep repeating OVER $4.00 WORTH OF TOKENS.... turn it around you are complaining about $4.00 WORTH OF TOKENS!!! #4 You complain that you wasted your time stopping in Cozumel but then complain that you had 2 1/2 days at sea "swimming around in the water, being held hostage in an obvious attempt to increase alcohol and casino sales, being bored, insulted by staff, and having a horrible time." You chose to cruise during hurricane season, there weren't too many other options for you. Bottom line dont expect to be hearing back. If it is that serious, then cruise other lines, but it sounds like you wont be happy regardless.
icanshine Posted November 3, 2011 #28 Share Posted November 3, 2011 I'm sorry you had a bad experience on your cruise. I do agree with you about the games and such that carnival hosts and awards winners for. We were at one Trivia event and the winner was a gentleman who "didn't need to write his answers down, he had them all in his head." That man won the trophy and all other honest players lost out. When you took your underage children to a comedy show and in turn had to leave, that was your own fault. In the fun times it shows you that some of those shows are 18 and over. You broke the rules. You shouldn't receive a refund for this. I do think that Carnival was trying to do right by hosting a Halloween event. Isnt' that what you wanted and packed for? So what if they threw it together in under 24 hours. YOU wanted something for Halloween, they tried to accommodate you, and you still weren't happy.
big_duck Posted November 3, 2011 #29 Share Posted November 3, 2011 You're angry because your children were not allowed in the over-18 comedy show. Probably would have complained about the content if allowed to stay.

If you notice, we've been cruising RCI exclusively for the last couple of years. Hardly cheerleaders for any one line. Please point out what you consider a true problem? Opinions of how someone talks to you isn't going to hold water. I do have to wonder what the OP's attitude/voice were in dealing with everyone. It appears they boarded with attitude and it just snowballed from there. There's more than one side to every story. Tell me, do you think that letter was succinct and would even be considered seriously by ANYONE?
gnocchi_mommy Posted November 3, 2011 #33 Share Posted November 3, 2011 Im one of those people who likes complaining and sticking it to the evil corporate empire when its called for... but seriously dude, way too many petty complaints mixed in there with a few solid serious ones. As a result the whole letter is going to get round can filed. when you are taking on a company you have to pick ONE or TWO (max) serious points to fight, and make your complaint about those. If you throw in every little nuisance you experienced it becomes just a "oh, one of those people who can't be pleased and likes to hear themselves complain, delete." letters. MrFunInTheSun Posted November 3, 2011 #34 Share Posted November 3, 2011 I'm shaking my head. I've actually read all you wrote and really don't see any big issues in what you wrote. Certainly no big issues to keep me from traveling on the Legend. Demanding a full refund??? Are you serious? That's the funniest thing I read all week. What issues you wrote about certainly don't qualify you for a full refund. Not even a half refund. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk. Please excuse typographical errors. MissKIA Posted November 3, 2011 #36 Share Posted November 3, 2011 Oh Mon Dieu. That is WAY too long! I did get through about three quarters of it though. Most of what you have complained about seems to be pretty minor to me. Not even close to a disaster. More like minor inconveniences and annoyances. Cruising89143 Posted November 3, 2011 #38 Share Posted November 3, 2011 OP you lost me with the annoying phone call. I agree that this letter will probably be trashed. You rambled on far too long and it was one sided. There had to be some good things that you enjoyed about this cruise. Also you know that cruise lines cannot control the weather. Not to be negative but most of your complaints are petty. Also the way that you closed your letter was not the smartest. You will not receive a full refund so more than likely due to the wording of your closing statement, Carnival will write you off as a customer lost. Also, I am far from being a Carnival cheerleader. navybaby1113 Posted November 3, 2011 #39 Share Posted November 3, 2011 Just curious, but did you actually enjoy anything about your cruise? And if you're concerned about missing ports and having a lot of sea days, don't sail during hurricane season.

Elaine515 Posted November 3, 2011 #42 Share Posted November 3, 2011 I read your entire letter....have to admit it wasn't easy, but I did... So, you never got the name of the person who called you or the Supervisor that you say you spoke to... How does Carnival truly know that it happened? Maybe you're just a passenger who wants on-board credit or a present.... Your kids lost $4.00 in the arcade... Is $4.00 really worth everything you went thru? The way I read your letter, Wee Jimmy went out of his way to try and make you happy... Did you at least thank him? And OH MY, the ports were changed... again OH MY.... this was for your safety and please don't blame Carnival for what Mother Nature did... A FULL REFUND??? Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I doubt it very much... Personally I do think Carnival will contact you but I don't think you're going to be happy with whatever they say/tell you... Hope you had a good time somewheres in that week where the crew entertained you, cooked for you, cleaned for you etc...

AZ Karaoke Girl Posted November 3, 2011 #44 Share Posted November 3, 2011 My spouse had previously(at least 5 times) asked that notations be made on his past guest information page that he wanted "no solicitation calls, no follow up calls, no additional calls" at all. Why would you even need to specify this. Has this been a problem for you in the past? I have never been called by Carnival unless there was a good reason to. Those requests seemed to have never been honored, as we received yet another call at 4:07pm Eastern time on Friday, October 7th, 2011......I then placed a return call, at 4:15pm, If you didn't have time for the first call at 4:07, why would you bother to call them back at 4:15? This just added to your frustration and aggrevation over something that wasn't really a big deal. Ok, if they hung up on you when you asked to speak to a supervisor, that would tick me off too but ????? Upon our arrival, there was no credit, nor was there anything waiting for us in the cabin. This sounds to me like you were just looking for a freebie. Like a plate full of chocolate strawberries would just make you feel all better. On Sunday evening, it became visible that there was a tropical disturbance brewing......Our remaining ports were completely cancelled (Roatan Honduras and the Caymans), and we spent the last 2 and 1/2 days swimming around in the water, being held hostage in an obvious attempt to increase alcohol and casino sales, being bored, insulted by staff, and having a horrible time. This happens all the time. What else were they supposed to do about this? That is a chance you take when cruising. They did what they were supposed to do and protect their guests. The rest of the stuff is more ridiculous attempts to get something for nothing. Loosen up. I sure am glad you won't be back on Carnival as I wouldn't want to be with anyone like you on my vacation. I'm not a Carnival cheer-leaders, just realistic that you are wasting your time and mine.
cv322 Posted November 3, 2011 #45 Share Posted November 3, 2011 Jeez I couldn't get through it! (and I'm a voracious reader!) Waaaaay too much, waaaaaay too long. And, not for nothin', the complaints I did read were tiny...miniscule...frankly not worthy of the space it took to type it. Complain much? There's a huge sense of entitlement in your novel. Misplaced perhaps?

DTXCruiser Posted November 3, 2011 #48 Share Posted November 3, 2011 WOW! 3 pages of responses and not a single one is in support of you! The closest you got to support is the post about cheerleaders. (by the way "cheerleader poster", I disagree, I just sailed for the first time in over 6 years and believe cruising is just as nice!). I just have to concur....you listed a lot of petty issues that you ALLOWED to ruin your vacation. The phone call issue....please, you answered it! Then, after stating you were not in a place to talk, you called back??? The rest is just as silly....food, it's your opinion. $4 worth of token...if you think they were making a big deal of it...why were you?? The itinerary change...you sailed during hurricane season....luck of the draw. By the way... I was in Progreso at the same time....got a 1 hour massage on the beach for only $15 and enjoyed a couple nice drinks, even purchased a couple simple tokens to help the Mexican economy...if you didn't like it...should have stayed on the ship...oh, you were being held hostage! I just don't see any true critique....just a bunch of silly whining.
Cruisingzs Posted November 3, 2011 #49 Share Posted November 3, 2011 I know I saw several threads about there being no Halloween parties unless you cruised ON Halloween. Just because Americans will celebrate the weekend before does not mean cruises do. It is not a holiday. Cruises do not celebrate the entire week of Christmas cruises or New Year's Cruises. JUST THAT DAY> We lost money in the game room and an attendant replaced it. If they call when and you cant talk, hang up! If you don't want your itinerary changed, stay home. Storms happen on cruises and land vacations If you have never seen burgers and hotdogs at mid day late afternoon, then you have never cruised. I have 16 behind me and that is always what they have at that time of day It sounds like you had a bad trip because you would not let yourself enjoy it. If you came on with a bad attitude, it will continue to fester
