This happened once to us on the Liberty and we were on deck 8 when we were in our room we couldnt smell it but when we opened the door. Ewwww the drain pipe for our neighbors borke and sent water all over there floor our closet and the hall way. Royal did give use free laundery for it. Just one of thos things that happen.

I don't know if I could tolerate that stench for any reasonable amount of time. I'd want more than free laundry. You're scarin' me here. . . I'm set to leave on 12/1 on Explorer. . . LOL!:D

HOPR THE SHIP IS BETTER ON YOUR CRUISE JUST RETURNED AND THE SMELL ALL WEEK WAS HORRIBLE, ACTUALLY DISGUSTING. NEXT TIME I WOULD RATHER HAVE THE CRUISE CANCELLED THAN SMELL SEWAGE MOST OF THE CRUISE. REALDAMPER FOR THOSE IN MY GROUP THAT WERE FIRST TIME CRUISERS AS WELL AS THE REST OF US WHO WERE FIRST TIME RC CRUISERS.

THE STAFF WAS MORE THAN WONDERFUL ESPECAILLY THE WAIT STAFF.

Sorry to hear of the "stink" you had to endure. In the future, please lose the CAPS as it is not only very difficult to read, its perceived as "yelling" online. Thanks for your consideration.

We just got off the Explorer 10 days ago and the smell was really bad on deck 10 and 9 aft every day. Did not bother us at all. It was a lot better than being home. Radio say hi to Carlos from OS 1600.

Was the smell outdoors on those decks or actually in the cabin? If it were outdoors, no biggie. . . just move forward!

Hello everyone. . .Today was a nice day for our first day at sea. We had our Meet and Mingle today down in the Chamber on Deck 3. The attendance was good, as we had about 75 people show up for the event.

There were a lot of prizes for the raffle which included a few Spa Appointments, and about 10 Internet packages. I was lucky enough to win one of the $50 Internet prizes. . . I will put it to good use.

There was a gift exchange as well, that included about 50 gifts from Cruise Critic Members. It was nice to see everyone in attendance, as I was able to meet a lot of nice people. It seems that many of them had family at home that they wanted to “tune in” to my daily reports. . . It was a pleasure to hear very nice comments from a lot of people.

We had a Cabin Crawl / Poker Run afterwards that included 7 Cabins that were donated (for review)by Cruise Critic members. . .each person involved in the Poker Run donated $5. About 45 of us went to view all the cabins that included Inside/ Promenade/ Balcony/ Aft Corner/ Junior Suite/ Grand Suite.

Everyone collected a card after each cabin, and we had prizes for Poker Hands. It was fun and the winners collected some nice cash ! Special Thanks to all of the Cruise Critic Members who allowed 45 people to enter and view their Cabin, and a Special thanks to Cruise Critic members Watermanfunari and MedicKen for organizing the event.

The sun was in and out most of the day, and there were not many passengers using the pools today. . .it was till a little chilly. . .I know, I know. . .it is still November.

The Spas had a few passengers, but I am sure that the weather will warm quickly as we approach the Caribbean.

No sea day is complete without a relaxing nap at sea. . . I needed it, so now I can stay up a little longer tonight. I think there are a few shows. . .Tonight is Formal night, and I will be in attendance with a few friends at MTD on Deck 5 at 8PM.

We are heading steadily towards out first port of St. Maarten at . We have about 1000 nm to go. No worries as we still have 2 seas days.

Here are some pics from today. . .

Thanks for tuning in !

Radio,

Sorry for backtracking a little here, but when you were taking pictures of the "security screening" and "cruise check-in" at Cape Liberty, did anyone discourage you from taking photos or give you...um...discouraging looks? I've always wanted to take photos of these areas to show family members, who have never cruised before, what the whole process is like, but I never have for fear that I would get in trouble for taking photos in certain areas.

The security screening area surprised me a bit too. I seem to recall signs stating no cameras in the screening area. I'm sure that a security agent even approached a lady behind us and asked her to put her camera away on our last trip to Cape Liberty.

If you are able, could you please take a picture of the childrens waterslide/play area. Thank you!

If Radio is unable to, I can post a few we took with the kids last Mar. That area was the DW and I little Eden. It was never busy, often it was only the 4 of us and an Adventure Ocean staff member. The kids could play without us having to worry about them being lost in the crowds and we could sit and relax with a cocktail and stare out at the ocean from the back of the ship in peace and quiet. The most memorable was watching the sunset over Cayo Laventado as we sailed away from Samana, breathe taking.
