Quick question for any previous Explorer traveler: How many outlets are in the rooms? I remember my Liberty cabin had 2 on on top of the desk and I don't remember the Majesty, but I'm curious as I'll have portable speakers for my iPod, an alarm clock and then would need a few extra plugs for charging electronics.

Thanks!

Outlets are a PITA.

I took a power strip, which would not plug in, luckily I also brought a 3 prong to 2 prong adapter, plugged that in to the outlet, then plugged the powerstrip into that.

Hello everyone. . . Good Morning. Welcome to Day 3 of “LIVE” from Explorer of the Seas.

As I type this post, I have been thinking about doing some” LIVE” from the Explorer Videos, as I think it may be a little more realistic to see some video clips while I am on board. I think I may have the answer, but it may take a few more days to work out the details. I have often provided video clips (links) to YouTube where small 30sec clips can be viewed but I am trying to get them viewed on Cruise Critic..

About a month ago when I booked my EOS cruise I found these awesome video's by a Mark Chatfield on youtube.................the pieces are falling together! Thanks for all that you do whenever you get the chance to do it.;)

Radio,

Who is your cruise director this cruise and have your heard when he leaves and who replaces him. There seems to be a lot of chit chat about it on the "cruse director list enjoy" thread.

BTW; congradulate whoever did your "Cabin Crawl" sign... that was outstanding.

I have a theory on why the production shows sometimes are not full. The same shows have been on the Explorer for years and many people, especially from the Metro NY area, take repeat cruises on the ship.

We sail on this ship twice a year, April and November (leaving a week from tomorrow Sunday the 20th - woo-hoo) any how, yes I was told that they change the productions about every 5 years.

Hello everyone. . . Today is the day that we were blessed by the sun for most of the day. The temps grew little by little, and more and more passengers came out on the top decks, to enjoy sunny skies and blue seas. . .

The water has been very calm today. The ship is sailing smoothly, and it I hope it continues for the rest of our trip to the A.C. Wathey Pier in Philipsburg, St Maarten. (660nm)

I played a new Dice game with a few friends today (LCR DICE), hmm or maybe it is LRC dice. . . and it is very fun. Anyway, basically you start of with $3, and roll the dice, and the money passes hands many times, until only one player wins it all. The more the merrier with this game. . .it what a lot of fun ! It was nice to play with good friends up on the pool deck this afternoon.

I have been thinking of what I’m going to do in St Maarten in Monday, and although I still haven’t decided. . I may try to get over to Little Divi Resort Beach, where it is quiet and I won’t have to worry about fighting through traffic to get back to the Pier. I have heard that there are several new Casinos down on Front Street. . .Hmmm. . . I might have to check that our too !

There are several tournaments today, a Production Show, and the 50’ and 60’s Party tonight, so I must get a quick snooze before dinner. . . But here are a few pics from earlier this morning and this afternoon.

Thanks for all of the very nice comments. . .

Hi All!

Meg here...popping onto the live thread to say HI!! HI!!!!:D

there are 2 plugs in the room....over the desk!

the gift exchange was like this: we all brought something around 10 bucks that was either cruise or hometown related...or both....

this time, Sue handed out tickets, then Ken pulled numbers...and you went to the bar and grabbed a bag...lots of fun!

sitting with mark, ken, deb and the gators playing that dice game was a riot!

hopefully the MDR staff will let us all eat together tonight..:p kidding..we are having a great time...decent weather....seas are not bad at all.....

The CD is Luke Aerowsmith (that's probably NOT spelled correctly..) and fom what i read on our roll call, someone got an email from jimmy rhodes who said he is the CD on this ship and will be back after vacation...not sure when that is....i will see if i can find out.....Luke seems very good..again, i am not one who cares about who the CD is...IMO it isn't a make or break kind of thing!

LOTS and LOTS of CCers here too..some of whom, well, surprised some of us....(they shall remain nameless....oh fellow New Jerseyan;))

be good everyone......and you'll hear from us soon...

i'm thinking of trying Morning Star beach at Radio's suggestion...it's close to the ship...so that might be an option!

Funny that the 1st person I ran into on the ship was Capt. Olav!!

later....time for the CL....then dinner.....with this fun(ny) crowd of peeps from CC

I am sure Radio will be able to tell us if the sewer smell is fixed by now. Sure hope so I am boarding on 11/20

A couple people i ran into said that they had a funky smell....seems to be par for the course, and not just on EX...i smelled it on SR and JW too

Radio- Thank you so much. I am sipping a cup of coffee right now. ( I know how you love your Java too) and I feel like I am walking the decks with you.

Please say Hi to Carol and Meg for me. I will be on the Ex in february.

Thanks again and have a great day!

Nora

We're sailing together in April hopefully you joined our roll call and meet and mingle.

I know that "some" agents, in "some" ports may discourage photos, but I can clearly remember when passengers asked some of the agents to take their photo while in the Terminal. They were happy to comply.

I usually just try to be discreet while I just take a few pics of the Terminal area. . .and no flash, of course.

;);)

One time, a few years ago, I sneakily took a picture with my cell phone, but I felt like at any moment a security agent was gonna come over and throw me out of the terminal or something. I haven't tried since, but maybe I can work on being stealthy.

Radio

How do you like having the Meet and Mingle in the Chamber? On our last two cruises on Explorer, we had the M&M in the Chamber. I don't thing the layout of the Chamber allows for much mingling. I wish they would have the M&M in a venue that is more open.
