What do you do with your trays

Well at least bugs! All that food in the hallway can't be a good thing. Sometimes I see it there in the morning when I head up the pool, and some of the trays are still there in the afternoon when I return to the cabin

YUCK!

that's been our experience too. I guess it depends how often and at

what time people order the food. even if I ordered at nite, I would

leave tray in room and expect the steward to remove when cleaning

our room in the morning.

H8 2 --- lots of uneaten food on those trays!!

Whenever I've ordered room service in a hotel I've left the tray in the hallway.

At most hotels I've stayed at, they request you call room service when you are finished to come collect the used tray. That is what I usually do.

Do you place them outside your front door for the rest of your neighbours to contend with?

Nope, I put them out because I do not want dirty dishes in my room and for the Food and Beverage to pick up. It is exactly what I have seen the Stewards do many times.

I really don't care what you do, so why the concern about what I do?

Here are some suggestions from a trouble maker;

1. 2 doors down the hall

2. in the elevator

3. if in a balcony, either;

a. drop to the deck below

b. see how far they will fly

c. see if you can "skip" a plate in the ocean

4. under the bed

5. that is what the 3rd closet is for

All FANTASTIC suggestions! :o

I'm only concerned about what I may be walking on because things are on the floor. As a person with vision problems, there's a good chance I may not see your dirty dishes and slip and fall because people like you have placed trays and dishes in the hallways. Frequently people with vision issues walk close to the sides of the hallways because they use walls/doorways as guidance items. It's always a great deal of "fun" to discover you've walked in someone's leftover pudding because they couldn't wait for housekeeping to remove a tray.

I do put trash outside of my house twice a week. Next to the street to be picked up. Just like everyone else on our street.

Leaving a tray in the hall way is no more disgusting than leaving a table on the lido deck with plates of half eaten food. They both will be picked up by Carnival staff doing their jobs. Weather the tray comes from a room service order or is carried from the lido deck it will be picked up.

The shower floor is a good place to put the trays once you are finished with them.

no, it's a disgusting as putting the tray on the floor next to the garbage can.

This is one poll I would to see , I am on the side on NOT leaving it in the hallway. Find that repulsive as well, Guess I am with the people , if I go to the lido I usually run them back up and room service just leave them on the table and the room steward always takes them to the appropiate place.

I find it tacky seeing the trays in the hallway. I personally leave them in the cabin.

Also, at the same time I have seen people in wheelchairs and scooters stuck because trays were lined on both sides of hallways.

I recently asked the ladies in CCL Funville what the exact thing to do is ...

here is the response given ....

This is what I got from my pros oboard.

It depends of the time, during the morning or afternoon we tell the guests to leave the trays outside the stateroom and the stateroom stewards or runners will collect them, however in the evening after the stateroom stewards are off duty we tell the guests to keep the trays inside the stateroom and the stateroom stewards will collect them in the morning since we do not have enough staff to collect trays from the hallways late in the evening or at very early hours of the morning.

Have a great day and thanks for the great question.

Just curious why it would depend on the time. Room service is 24 hours....right? So if a room servie person takes a tray to a cabin, they have empty hands to bring some back.

Personally I don't care whether you leave them in the hall or in your room. But to those who do leave their trays in the hallway... please empty any glasses you might have. I have seen kids going thru the halls kicking over half drank glasses of whatever. No need to give them a target for their pent up adolescent angst.

Now that is a very thoughtful, and useful suggestion. TY:)

Im sorry, but I dont see how leaving your tray in the hallway, hinders folks in wheelchairs. There is an indented area beside your door, same place they leave your luggage the first night, and that is where I see trays left, including mine. This doesnt jut out in the main traffic area of the hallways, at least not where my staterooms usually are, ( lower decks ). It maybe different up on higher decks. So, just saying it may differ, depending on the deck of the stateroom.

I do not really love seeing it in the hall but think it can get taken care of...it you can not stand it by your door or 2 doors down call them for removal..

LOL..bonus story for hall method...last hotel I stayed at was a 4 star Marriott and someone did not want their welcome wine and chocolate covered strawberries...i watched the strawberries become gross floating on melted ice..but the wine bottle remained unopened as did the corkscrew and sanity wrapped wineglasses...after all day passing it, I considered it my gift and had white wine i chilled and had with my happy hour dinner i brought up to room...LOL...Sarah

We always leave them in the cabin. Nothing more disgusting than seeing half eaten food or dirty dishes laying in the halls.....tacky!

I am in agreement, it is gross to see leftover, half eaten food on messy plates in the hallway. I also think it is not respectful of those in wheelchairs or scooters.

We just leave ours in the cabin and it is always cleared away while we are out...having said that, this next trip is my first on Carnival....so I hope the service is the same. We will have to wait until Jaunuary to find out.....we will definitely be having room service a couple of times.
