What drinks do you make with your bon voyage smuggled liquor???

Also, if you want to buy the cups, we found that the cheapest way to buy them was to go to the bars & purchase them. (We had one crack on day & had to replace it). hope this helps. :):):)

How much were the carnival cups? I was planning to pay full price for my first DOD then pay for refills. But if it saves anything to buy the cup w/o the drink I'll do that.

Hi nw2this,

The cups are like tumblers, insulated & have a black sippy lid. At the store on the Prom I believe they were like $12. We went to the bar at the casino & asked to buy them separately (no drink, no soda) and I want to say they were $6.95 apiece & you could get green or red. They also had them for sale at the specialty coffee place, but they were $1 more there for some reason.

I buy vodka from BV. Sometimes I buy the unlimited soda card because it includes juice from the bar. I just order a juice and then mix some vodka in it. I bring an empty flask on board to carry the vodka around so I don't have to keep going back to my room. If I don't buy the soda card, I either stash juice from breakfast in my cabin fridge or use the free lemonade.

One time the bartender saw me pour the vodka from my flask into the juice I just got. I didn't try to hide it since I bought the vodka from BV. She approached me and said I wasn't allowed to use my own liquor onboard. I tried to explain I bought it from BV, but I don't think she understood what I was saying. She said she had to call security. I ended up just walking away. Now, I don't mix my drink so out in the open. Even though I know I can show I bought it from BV if needed, it's not worth the possible hassle.

Why, Rum Punch, of course! We ordered rum, I will bring my Kool Aid Tropical Punch sugar free powder, carrying on 12 pack of original Fresca. Will purchase Pinapple juice. Instructions:

20 oz. glass filled with 2/3 ice, a shot of rum, 1/8 teaspoon powder, a splash of pinapple juice, top off with fresca!

Fairly low calorie and so refreshing!!!!!:D

Vodka, lemonade, and a splash of Sprite Zero. order a tall drink day one and then save the glass! Just hide it in the closet.

if I am on a roll in the casino or having fun I just order a drink. It's vacation!

We take a water or gatorade bottle, (basically any type of plastic container) and fill er' up with straight liquor, then mix poolside with their ice and lemonade. Less trips to room. And then take turns making said trips! Works out very well! Have Fun!

This is what we do also.

I just bring on an empty flask and fill it with my BV booze. It's small enough to fit in my pocket or even a woman's small clutch purse. Then just use my unlimited soda card to order my mixer...pour in a shot and enjoy.

OK thanks! I wasn't sure if a flask would be OK or not.

I ordered a bottle of rum, and will bring a box of those fruit punch pouches of real juice, also can get juice and lemonade on board. Plus I bought 5 drink coupons for DH beer thats 20 beers, keeps my sail and sign bill down, to buy in advance. 7 day cruise should be a good start, lol:p

Could you tell me more about the 5 drink coupons for 20 beers? :)

Wow so many great ideas!!! Now i want to buy rum tequila and vodka! lol I really would really like to know exactly how they did they gummy bears and see a picture if any knows of where it was!

You can go on YouTube and do a search for gummy bears with vodka. Lots of videos on how to make them. I have made these at home and let them soak for at least 5 days before eating. By that time they are almost like a jello consistency. They do swell up some. I have made them with Smirnoff Vodka and one time with Appleton Rum. You can try any brand of vodka or alcohol that you like. If on ship, I would say a minimum of 2 days are needed, but they are still kind of chewy.

Here is a site to check out

gummy worms/sugar free gummies/jolly ranchers/skittles are some other ideas that are out there too.

Im leaving on thursday for a cruise. I ordered Vodka via BV. I packed my starbucks cup that has a lid & straw also a empty water bottle. I plan on pouring the vodka in my water bottle so I don't have to worry about breaking a glass bottle. I'll put it in my bag that I will carry around on board with my nook, music and other random things. Then using the lemonade or tea like many others have said to mix with the vodka. Figured if you use a 1ounce shot that gives you at least 26 drinks for $42 versus $6-$8 for each drink at the bar.

Required alcohol: Pinnacle Whipped Vodka

Mixers: Orange juice or soda and a dash of cream or milk

The most delicious orangecicle you will ever drink!

I also like to use 99 Bananas and mix it with coke. You get some bang for your buck right there.

Also.. I am new at all the cruise "lingo" so can I ask what BV is?

BV is the Bon Voyage division of Carnival where you go to order flowers, liquor, etc. prior to cruising, or as gifts for cruisers. Most items can be ordered on-line. For liquor, there is an 800 number you must call before sailaway to order liquor, to be delivered to your cabin. I don't have the number with me, but if you call Carnival, they will give it to you.

We will be going on our first cruise in a little over a month ad are trying to decide if we want to buy a bottle of liquor to have in our room to save money. I cant drink liquor straight and don't like it with soda. So I was wondering what are your on board drink recipes??? This will also help me decide exactly what kind to buy to! Thanks!!!

Liquor from Bon Voyage is not smuggled, but if you order something from bon voyage, then vodka would probably work. You can get juices from those dispensing machines on the lido deck. There used to be lemonade, but recently saw a review where they had guava fruit juice, so that might be nice also. Just an idea. :)

I can't believe nobody mentioned rum. Caribbean rum mixes great with juices. If you find a rum you like you can get some duty-free to bring home.

Agreed! The coconut cream is delicious with the mango juice on board :) Every morning we would go down and fill up 2 containers that we brought with juice and use it for our drinks throughout the day and night! We just removed the middle shelf from the fridge and stood them upright. It worked perfect :)

I've never seen mango juice on Carnival, but we get the Pass-O-Guava (passionfruit/orange/guava) juice from the buffet drink dispensers in the mornings and mix it with Malibu. So good! It makes good mimosas as well. I loved it when Carnival allowed you to bring more than one bottle of champagne on board.
