Was on the Enchantment cruise that got back this weekend. While Luke Arrowsmith got on October 26 he didn't actually take over as cruise director until November 1. Some on board said that Paul Rutter did 2-3 cruises on board as cruise directors. Blairs are due back January 14.

Adventure OTS - Drew Devine October 28 until January 13

 

Allure OTS - Ken Rush started October 28. Jimmy Rhodes expects to join the ship as CD sometime in February.

 

Brilliance OTS - Paul Lancaster started September 21 until the end of January

 

Enchantment OTS - Luke Aerosmith started Nov 1. John Blair is due back on Jan 14. *Marc Walker expects to join Enchantment on June 3, 2013 for 3 and 4 day cruises out of Port Canaveral per his facebook page https://www.facebook.com/pages/Cruis...609?ref=stream

 

Explorer OTS - Richard Spacey started July 19 until November 24. Activities Manager Leigh Xuereb's break begins November 4 and Leigh expects to return on Nov 24 as Cruise Director to cover Richard's break. Richard expects to return to EX when his break ends (exact return date unknown but a break is typically 6-8 weeks long) and at that point, Leigh expects to be transferred to another (unknown) ship as their CD.

 

Freedom OTS - Graham Seymour September 30 through February 3rd, then he's returning again April 7 through July 28. After that, Graham's 3 years on FR is up, and he requested a smaller ship to Alaska or New Zealand, for a change of scenery, but things can change quite quickly or not at all...ship's life (See Graham's thread: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1676462)

Hi Donna! I booked the new years cruise on the explorer. I was wondering, what kind of activities do they use to replace activities such as the belly flop competition and sexiest man since its the winter?

 

Ps were really hoping Leigh is still the cruise director by then!!

 

We were on the New Years EX cruise last year, with neither Leigh nor Richard as CD. To be honest, there were NOT enough scheduled activities to replace the outdoor ones, so on the cold/windy days when the outdoor decks were closed, there were a lot of people wandering around aimlessly and bored. This is where a CD can really make a difference! A better cruise director (such as Leigh or Richard) will make sure there is plenty to do to keep the passengers positively occupied on those indoor days, although I can't say from experience exactly what replacement activites are used.

We did the 14 night holiday cruise on the EX for 2008-2010 but skipped the 7 day Xmas or NYE cruise. Not enough warm days.

Donna, when we were getting off Jewel on Sunday, Dennis said that he was going on vacation after our cruise. He didn't mention who would be taking his place. Someone who sailed from Tampa on Sunday should be able to fill us in.

Just got off the Jewel of the Seas today (11-15-2012). Talked to Dennis , said he will be on until 11-19-2012 and return on 1-5-2013. He wanted to know who asked and I could not remember your name. So he is aware that someone wanted to know. He is a hoot. Hope this helps.

Radiance OTS - Bobby and Becky Brown started on Aug 31 until mid-December. (They are going home for 6 weeks over Christmas/New Years)

 

Rhapsody OTS - Casey Pelter started July 20 (until when?)

 

Serenade OTS - Ken Jones thru the drydock on Nov 18. James Andrews will return to Serenade on November 23 during dry dock. He will be CD until December 14 when he goes on vacation. Ken Jones will again be CD on December 14 until at least January 14 or possibly following the next cruise after that one - exact time to be determined.

 

Splendour OTS - Bill Brunkhorst *João Pereira returns for the fall/winter season in South America (Dec 9th?)

 

Vision OTS - Keith Williams started Sept 14 (until when?)

 

Voyager OTS - Gordon Whatman 27th September until January 24th 2013
