Still "ahead" in the casino, but no great 3 card poker hands yesterday.

Nobody seems to know anything about the departure of Mr. Hale as cruise director. All we can get from anyone is that he received some sort of notification while on vacation.

I never met him, but thought I'd give the only info I could get since i had many questions by email and skype.

Looking forward to scuba diving in Sharm el Sheikh!!!!

No major gossip or drama to report yet! DANG!!!!!

Have you had a chance to say Hi to Francesca?

Regards

Howard

Hi Howard and Vivienne!

I will give Francesca a big hug from you as soon as I see her! I was a pleasure meeting you. I took some photos of Viviennes performance in the Club.

I met Janey last night in the casino, where she asked me if I am on Cruise Critic. That's why I looked for her thread today. See you later Janey!;)

They still DO have Nigerian shrimp in the patio, but not every night. We have only been dining in the main restaurant so far....

Today we are sailing in the Red Sea. We are still garded by 4 military (nice) guys from the UK. But captain Geir-Arne said we would be safe from this morning.

We'll pass by Mekka today I believe.

We're having a wonderful time and celebrated a very special 40 anniversary a couple of days ago:)!

Regards from "our Seabourn Quest"!

Don't panic! Just wanting to know if anyone currently onboard Quest has been able to get sight of the current listing of " included" wines. And if so could they please share.

And is the house champagne still Nic F?

We join in Venice in two weeks - eyes down and counting:D

Hope the Nigerian Shrimp are being fattened up.

No Trolls please. Thanks Dan.

Sorry about the bizarre colours above - must be a Gremlin ( or a Troll) in my system.

Dr Janey,

Much enjoying your posts -- getting me in the mood for our Pride cruise a bit over a month from now. Have you met Stamfordian and his wife yet? Nice people.

And please enjoy the remainder of your cruise and ignore Neonobody --not sure what ax he is grinding but eventhough Seabourn is far from perfect it is perfect for us!!!

This might be fun for you Quest sailors......on the Spirit TA I decided before I left that it would be fun for we guests to make a few "towel animals" ~as the Ex.Housekeeper and Assn. were so busy I simply organized it ~~I took a few of my towels and washcloths up to the Sky Bar one sunny afternoon (some were golf putting) I had those silly plastic "rolling eyes" (in all colors) and took a few other items ~~I arranged the table (between the fire doors~in the corner) and placed everything on it. Some friends came and wanted to help design an "animal".........I said, "Ohhh, a snake!" Then the fun started! There were about 8 of us making/designing our snake.

What creative minds Seabourn Sailors have ! When we were finished it was a glorious, beautiful and colorful long rattlesnake!

We placed it on the bar ~everyone enjoyed seeing our creation!

Ask your CD or Special Guest Service person to organize a "towel animal" class some afternoon........fun, fun!

Love your log ~thank you!

Hi miss Martha!!! great idea with the animals!!!Everyone on board seems to know you, and smiles with a twinkle when we mention you.

This morning is quite busy, as we have to tender across to Safaga and then we are heading out on the overnight trip to Luxor.

Last night we ate with the musicians from Graffiti Classics, Dr. Joe and Terry, Suzie and Richard, The 2 guest lecturers and Michael and George(who stood us up at the show). We had a huge line of tables outside by the pool for surf and turf. By far the best meal yet. We all had mohitos and took a bunch of pictures

Also, saw Francesca again at tea yesterday.

More to follow if i have time!!!!

The overnight excursion to Valley of Kings and Karnak Temple was very interesting.

It was alot of walking for mom, though, and we've subsequently cancelled some of our other tours. I'm going to do a refresher dive at one of the resorts today so that I can do a "real" dive in Sharm el-Sheikh tomorrow.

We arrived back at around 5:30 and headed straight to the Sky Bar and had drinks with our usual group. We ordered caviar from room service and had a fun little pre dinner party. Then off to dining room for good food again. (food in Luxor was the worst!)

No shows for us last night, as we were exhausted. We were invited to eat at Francesca's table, but declined because we needed a quick meal then off to bed., We did stop to say hello on our way out-they were just ordering!!! Francesca is adorable- very sweet and quite gracious!!!!

So here is the program for today:

9:15 Shopping with the chef

10:30 Deck Sports

2PM Social Bridge Play

3:30 Deck Sports

4-5PM Tea

8PM Departure

Yesterday we cancelled the trip to Petra because we thought it would be too difficult for mom. It turned out to be the right decision, since we heard 9 people were taken by ambulance after the hike out.

Instead we went to The Jordan Diving School Beach and I did a refresher dive.

And yes, it was just like riding a bike- came back easily.

No time for shopping, but did pick up a present for John's kids.

We ate at the Patio Grill- Cowboy steaks and baked potatoes. OUtstanding!!!

Tonight is our big southern dinner, planned by Terry, the plastic surgeon's wife. We had such a big group that we had to split it into 2 tables for 8. Looking forward to it.

We will definitely find the Hard Rock today, as we have not been to one since Dubai. Have many pins to trade.

Todays Menu:

THE RESTAURANT:

FIRST COURSE:

Fennel Seared Salmon

Maple Glazed Duck Breast

Seafood Tempura

MAIN COURSE:

Seared Victoria Perch wit Polonaise Garnish

Crab Spring Rolls

Pink Grilled Lamb Loin

Mushroom & Eggplant Lasagna

COLONADE - South American

Jumbo Shrimp Cerviche

Spicy Beef and Queso Blaco Empanada

Dan and Phil, we wish you were here. No more cruising without you!!!

Hi.

I rode the bike to the tennis club. It had a flat tire, so I got a new tube. Now the bike is fixed. :)

Glad you are having fun! It's crazy that 9 people had to get ambulance ride.

Hi Dr Janey

Still here and enjoying your news! How was Sharm el Sheikh? Thought about it as a possible for a quick week away in the sun from the UK, only if we weren't cruising!

Now what is the Hard Rock????

thanks for sharing.:):)

I think Janey is referring to the Hard Rock Cafe...

:)

Keep the posts coming Janey!!

Mom finished a pair of baby booties so we invited our neighbors for cocktails in the Observation Lounge at 6:00 tonight, since they just found out she is pregnant. Waiting for reply. Then for our Southern Dinner tonight in the dining room.

Loved Sharm el Sheikh. Shopping was great and had a burger at MacDonald's!!!

Snorkeling was fantastic and the beaches are so beautiful. Didn't take any photos because we left our cameras on the ship. Had to tender off and was too much hassle to go back for them.

Hi Aram!!!! Got you a special present today!!!
