Can you go to the aquarium at Atlantis on your own?

Recommended Posts

The last time we were in Nassau we just took one of the sightseeing boats over to the hotel right from the dock & spent the afternoon walking around Atlantis. Some parts of it you will have to pay a fee. You don't have to do the excursion.

We've done it several times. Just take either the water taxi or an auto taxi over to Atlantis. There are many parts that you can just walk around for free. However; if you wish to go through the entire acquarium "The Dig", you will be charged $35.00 pp (last time we did it). You are still not allowed to use their pools.

Can we visit the Aquarium at Atlantis on our own? I looked on Atlantis website and could not find out the answer. I thought it would be cheaper on our own than paying the excursion price of $59 each. Thanks.

Last time we were there(2 years ago) the tour wristband was $35p/p for a one hour tour of the aquarium.

An all inclusive day pass was $120 p/p

Our experience...Last time we were there (Oct 10) you could not go down the stairs to the aquarium if you were not staying at the hotel or had booked some kind of excursion. Time before that (Oct 09) we enjoyed the aquarium in the lower lobby area without any questions. Note we did not do the entire aquarium just look at the big windows in the lower lobby.

Water Taxi was fun but slower. BTW, you need to walk from the

Water Taxi dock on Paradise Island to Atlantis. Maybe 1/4 or 1/3 mile, guessing.

Check on a map.

Taxi was door-to-door and quicker.

No charge to just walk around the public areas of the casino, marina

etc. There are some signs for 'Day Visitors' which steer you away

from Hotel foot traffic areas.

No need to take a tour just watch the time.

About the only places you can get to at the Atlantis without a ticket are the casino and restaurants. Things have changed a lot there over the past few years. If you want to see anything more expect to pay, and not a small amount.

We just did that about a week ago. The taxi from the ship was $4 a person and we were dropped at the front door of Atlantis. The aquarium tickets were $40 for an adult, kids were a bit less. We took about two hours to see the aquariums. We were able to wander all over the grounds and after looking at both aquariums we went out on the beach and no one stopped us. I think we weren't supposed to be on their beach, but there is a public beach next door I think. It really was sort of late in the day at this point so no one stopped us.

Anyway, I think it was worth doing. :)

Stayed there many times. But when on a cruise secret is to go later after the cruise crowds, get a casino players card, and flash that as required. Won't get you into the water park but will to most other places like the dig unles you have a large touristy looking party.
