Charleyann Posted June 27, 2012 #1 Share Posted June 27, 2012 I have an aft wrap around balcony on the Glory. I was offered to be upgraded to Ocean suite for $20 per person. Not sure if I want to give up my balcony ? Those who have had wrap arounds, would you upgrade to a Ocean Suite ? We are platinum so already get to pre board .... thanks Charleyann

rickechambers1@aol.com Posted June 27, 2012 #3 Share Posted June 27, 2012 If you spend more time inside your cabin the suite...spend more time outside the aft. Personally CCL has a low end suite product so its a no brianer and id take the aft wrap.

jsfromsc Posted June 27, 2012 #5 Share Posted June 27, 2012 For $20 I'd be tempted to go for the suite. I've never booked a suite before, mainly because of the price. But I've done the aft wrap balcony twice on the Triumph and we absolutely loved it. The layout of the cabin is different, too because of the shape of the room, so it feels roomier than a regular balcony room. Love having the window on over the bed so the moon can shine in at night, and I love seeing the ship's wake, especially in the moonlight.
golfadj Posted June 27, 2012 #6 Share Posted June 27, 2012 I would stay in the aft wrap.

Unknotted Posted June 27, 2012 #8 Share Posted June 27, 2012 I did that same upgrade once and was sorry I did. The aft wrap balcony is so nice...and the suites on Carnival aren't really that special unless you think you'll use the heck out of the whirlpool tub. getfuzzy Posted June 27, 2012 #10 Share Posted June 27, 2012 I like that you said, Upgrade Fairy. That's a cute term. Use whatever term fits, I say.
lbow2006 Posted June 27, 2012 #11 Share Posted June 27, 2012 I've never been in either, but from what I've seen in pics I'd stick with the aft wrap. I'd rather have that awesome balcony than the tub. (the extra space inside isn't really important to me though)
Georgiagolfer Posted June 27, 2012 #12 Share Posted June 27, 2012 BTW she is normally called the upsell fairy on here Agree, it costs more so it is "upsell." Upgrades, IMO, are free. Stick with the aft.
debster11 Posted June 27, 2012 #13 Share Posted June 27, 2012 Haha I was wondering how long it would take before someone "corrected" the OP on upsell vs upgrade. Not too long.

I think it is an important distinction. Not often does someone get a nice upgrade without paying for it.

Charleyann Posted June 27, 2012 Author #16 Share Posted June 27, 2012 BTW she is normally called the upsell fairy on here Well excuse me for my ignorance! However, I just had my knee replaced 5 days ago. I am on pretty powerful pain meds which place me in slow mode... Before you feel the need to degrade someone , think before you type. Willbcruisin Posted June 27, 2012 #18 Share Posted June 27, 2012 My past sailing on the Dream I got "the" call from the upgrade fairy and we took it for an OS. No way was it worth it. I have sailed Junior suites and grand suites on RCL and they are da bomb! CCL only gives you priority embark and debark. I had an aft wrap on Liberty and love love loved it! We hade wonderful gatherings with champagne and strawberries and watching the wake behind was so calming and relaxing. You can have sun or shade. Someone wants you aft, that's why the fairy is looking for you;) My opinion keep your aft! Oh and upgrade fairy just sounds so much better! Enjoy your cruise:)

Goldwolf Posted June 27, 2012 #25 Share Posted June 27, 2012 I've booked an aft wrap on the Sunshine next year, so it's good to hear the general opinion is they are better value than the suites. I think if I was offered an upsell I would keep the wrap.
