Hello. I was googling F301 and came upon this post. I have booked F301 for a future cruise. Is it significantly smaller than the other window suites? Did you have any noise issues?

Thanks

We stayed in it once and loved it. Great location and two beautiful large windows. Room is just set up a little different than the other window suites. No cabinets under windows but plenty of closets and cabinet space elsewhere. we had no noise issues. Unless you are staying in those suites you really don't

know they are there. Enjoy!

I would have no problem with F301 if it were the only window suite available. However, I prefer the larger ones if available.

I have not stayed in F301 myself. I have booked it a couple of times, but both times I was able to change to another window suite before sailing. Since all of the window suites are the same S7 category, you can change from one to another if available with no change to your cruise fare or other booking incentives (OBC, PBP, free gratuities, or whatever). Just check online and call Princess (or your travel agent) if you see another one come available for your cruise.

We have stayed in F301 once and the my only complaint is an occasional smoke odor. There is a door to the corridor that leads to Churchill’s which is a smoking bar, that is sometimes propped open. I would close it whenever it was left open. We prefer F311 which is closer to the lobby and larger.

It was the last one available but I'll keep my eyes open to see if that changes.

We were in a window suite on the Grand Princess last year. We have put two videos on You Tube. They are named: Grand Princess Window Suite F307 - Pt 1 and Grand Princess Window Suite F307 - Pt 2. This will give you an idea of the how these window suites look.

Enjoy your cruise and your suite!

Did you hear much noise from deck 7 above you?

We just sailed for the first time in one of these Window Suites on the Grand. We choose the second one from the door on the Guest Services side. Absolutely perfect location!! So convenient to everything and on the less smokey end of the hallway. With both doors closed, it really didn't get too smokey, though. Just once in awhile, the doors were held in the open position. Probably had something to do with a drill. ??

Yes, we did hear intermittent noise from the deck above but nothing to ever complain about. I could see if there were a lot of early morning joggers on your sailing, it might be a bit annoying but that wasn't the case on our cruise. We did hear them setting up the chairs in the morning but that lasted all of 10 seconds and they were done.

The location is awesome! You are directly across from the Club Class dining entrance and that is a must not miss!

We were one deck down from the Crown Grill, which is where we had our daily breakfast, complete with mimosas and some specialty coffees and a wonderful menu! The service at both the Club Class dining and the morning breakfast was phenomenal.

We were just one deck from any and everything that was going on ... so it seemed. Alfredos, the International Cafe, Vines Wine Bar and another bar were just one deck down. The casino was just steps from the cabin. Explorer's Lounge, Sabatini's (and Crown Grill, as mentioned), Crooners Martini Bar, the Vista Lounge, photos, etc ... just one deck up.

I believe suite passengers are invited up to the One5 Lounge for pre dinner snacks and cocktails (the cocktails will incur a charge of $6.50, I believe).

The first night, you will be treated to a complementary dinner in one of the specialty restaurants. I loved the Crown Grill and my DH loved Sabatini's. The Crown Grill will be more crowded on this night so make your reservations on the dine line as soon as you get to your room if you prefer a specific time that this restaurant.

There is a jetted tub in the bathroom, complete with a container of bath salts. The tub we had did spew a bit of rusty water out ... just so you are aware. There is also a lighted magnifying mirror in the bathroom ... never seen that on any cruise ship before. Never been in a suite on a cruise before, though.

You will be, if you chose, to be escorted onto the ship when you board. You will be amongst the first group to board. We showed up at the pier around 11 AM in San Francisco and they were already onto the elite passenger boarding so we could have arrived even earlier if we wanted. Our escort was already working with other passengers so we passed. One thing to note is that the doorman/woman on the elevator doesn't realize there are rooms on deck 6, the Fiesta deck so are reluctant to let you off there. So, be sure to just tell them you need to go to guest services if they question you. Just to the right of guest services, there is an entrance to the casino and just to the right of that, there is a door (kind of looks like it might lead to a closet or workspace). This is, in fact, the door to your private hallway. Of note, they sometimes set up the cameras for photo shoots right in front of this door and once on our cruise, it was where they set up the debarkation station when we were in one of the ports.

Other perks have been mentioned ... and I agree with the yummy chocolates!!

You will also get a mini bar set up ... if you choose, you can call room service and trade it in for 2 coffee cards (now with expiration dates printed on them) or a bottle of wine (or other mini bar items). You will get fresh flowers, a fruit bowl, a sleep well kit, shoe shine ...

The beds and pillows are so comfy....best ever for a cruise ship. The robes and plenty of towels are of very high quality!!

There is a DVD player with a list of DVD's you can borrow from the library, which we never used.

There is so much closet and drawer space .... you will never find yourself needing more room. There are two large golf umbrellas for your use while on the cruise hanging on one of the closets.

The safe is dinky dinky small, though. I read tragedies about people leaving their iPads out so tried to lock it up ... but it was a struggle so just left it in the cabinet after fighting with that a few times. It is a regular sized iPad and wouldn't fit with the case.

There were also a couple of blankets and pool towels .... once the pool towels were used, they weren't replaced but I am sure they would have been if we asked. The blankets came in handy when reading during the day and not wanting to mess up the bed.

You can also order dinner from the MDR menu to be delivered to your room if you choose. Lastly, you can order room service, even on the morning of debarkation if you choose. That's not available in any other room type. We were going to use it but we ended up back in the Club Class dining and it was a very pleasant and non-crowded experience. We simply walked off the ship once we were done with our last meal.

If you are going in the next few weeks or so, Marco will be your room steward. He will offer you stellar service!!

Thank you for this. I had a window suite on the Grand for next January but ended up moving to a Vista. But, I do now have a window suite booked on the Caribbean Princess for 2020. The location seems awesome.

Do these suites hear a lot of noise or get a lot of smoke from the casino?
We had no noise from the Casino in our WS on the Grand. On the Golden and Caribbean the Casino was moved to the Promenade deck. At times there was a slight smoke smell in the corridor if the forward door by F301 was left open. That smoke comes from the cigar bar just forward of the elevators if the doors to the bar are left open. We never had a smoke smell in F307 or further aft.

I forgot to mention this: We laughed like Hell when we discovered the robes in the cabin. They were they 'upgraded suite' type robes and weighed like half a ton.

We did the ultimate ship tour several years back when they were still giving those enormously thick and fluffy robes as one of the gifts. You're right - they do weigh half a ton. And if you have short arms, you end up with something like a full sized tire of rolled up material. One of these days I have to get around to shortening the sleeves in mine so I can actually wear it. :D
