Esahuma Posted November 22, 2012 #233 Share Posted November 22, 2012 I don't think Ocean Boy was making it seem otherwise. I do believe he was wishing people wouldn't panic over this. This ship is taking every necessary precaution to keep not only the guests with this but the other guests safe as well. I am hoping that Linda will keep us informed of what if anything else is given to the passengers regarding this. **Looks like we are on 2 upcoming cruises together - looking forward to meeting you! Have a great Thanksgiving :)

Rare NorbertsNiece Posted November 22, 2012 Author #237 Share Posted November 22, 2012 Happy Thanksgiving to all my American friends and family. To pick up on a couple of issues : The TV IS indeed interactive…. I have to my shame been able to view in one clear place the amount of alcohol I have consumed and purchased for others! I can also report that there are 92 movies available in the pay to view section most of which I have never heard of. I can, however, highly recommend ‘Ted’ and ‘MiB3’. ‘Salmon Fishing in the Yeen’ is also there but I’ve not seen it…. I just have a soft spot for Ewan McGregor! I am delighted to report that there have been no mini bar charges incurred to date. The notice works!! I’ve visited the Medical Centre today to get some hydrocortisone ointment for my bug bites. $4. They were very clear to confirm that that was what they indeed were. Whilst I was there the lady took a call from a guest with regards to the chickenpox notice. She very clearly stated that they had no idea it was on board until the people concerned had come to them with the symptoms….. sounded like she was defending the medics against someone saying ‘why did you let them on board in the first place….she confirmed to me that there were only 2 cases. St Lucia What a beautiful island. Patty took pics at 5am of the Pitons as we passed by. We have left late….. a group tour was half an hour late back…. I don’t know if we will be able to see them on the way out now…. The sun has set. We are moving incredibly slowly right now heading south. When I am in state to take pics it is gone 7 and the view from my balcony is really pretty. The pier area looks very welcoming and we head ashore as soon as we are able. Taxis are easy to come by…. We are heading for the Rainforest Adventure. We negotiate a fare of $40 return for each of us. It’s a half hour ride from the pier…. climbing through residential areas and lush greenery. Our driver, Randolph, knows the roads but I am hanging on….. as I said previously I don’t do white knuckle rides! The centre where the aerial ride takes place also accommodates a zip-line adventure with many different stages….. from the screams that echoed through the forest on our very sedate gondola ride it was very much enjoyed by those participating. Our ride took an hour and was extremely well narrated by our guide Romantica. We saw many varieties of plant life and heard woodpeckers…. Humming birds were seen by others. There was liquid refreshment included on our return and hot snacks available to purchase. As I couldn’t eat the patties they very kindly found a banana for me… a very sweet gesture. On our return I lunched and then headed for the pool. It was Pimm’s o’clock followed by a Mudslide. Cristian had made too much mixture so I ended with double the quantity…. Yeah. I then had to lay down on a bed I had conveniently prepared earlier with 2 towels. I was out for about an hour, woken by the sounds of the entertainment team gathering people together to play a quoits game. Had a virgin colada. Enough day time alcohol for me today. We are half an hour late (at least) leaving port. An organised tour is late back….. I think you can see the time on the clock in the background of the pics I took. We’re barely moving……. Not sure what is up…. Feels like things may be picking up now….. will post this then go show the captain how to shift those gears…… Lots of American being shown live today...... in the Sports Bar and the Lounge. Patty is not to be disturbed.... !! Quest tonight...... what are the chances I will make a late night? Didn't yesterday......

Rare NorbertsNiece Posted November 23, 2012 Author #241 Share Posted November 23, 2012 Having probs with photobucket (again) A little later…… The Pitons are right outside my window (Port side for those who need to know) It’s 735pm and it’s too dark to capture a picture….. I tried! Patty has been watching the football in her room as Scott is poorly. She is heading for WJ to eat so I join her. Well that was an experience. There’s a lot of turkey, some fish, ham, lots of curried stuff, soups but I found it difficult to get a GF guide and to be honest from what was there I would be hard pushed to enjoy….. must remember next Thursday to eat in MDR…. And honestly my bottle of wine can wait for me I’ve had plenty of alcohol today (turns out that when Danny in the Viking Lounge made my Mudslide he omitted the Vodka…. Cristian at the Pool Bar didn’t!!! ROFL) Saving grace for the MDR is sushi!! I have a plateful and take a dessert back to the room where my laptop is recharging so I can post today’s pics. I’m not at all happy with the quality of the menu pics and then it dawns on me…. They are brown on brown….on one sheet… totally unlike the previous layout…… We are still barely moving…. 8.0kts according to the tv… (when I started writing this it was 8.5…….) B2B info has been provided. On Satrday evening my new SeaPass card will be delivered to my room along with an ‘In Transit’ card. I’m not sure if I will be doing the El Yunque tour….. It may be nice to be on an almost empty ship….. for those staying on board there is a meeting in the Deck 3 dining room at 1100 to be escorted through Immigration formalities. We need our passports etc and old and new seapasses and in transit cards; no luggage. If we want to go in to town we can any time after 830am. They clearly state that embarkation will not start before 1230 and no-one wil be allowed to board before then. No special breakfast. MDR will be available for lunch. The letter states that I can book tours for next week….. heh. Tried that just now over the phone…. Will have to see if the Explorations desk can figure out how. I need to be sure to use up all the internet credit I have…..

Rare NorbertsNiece Posted November 23, 2012 Author #250 Share Posted November 23, 2012 I thought these guys were late The along came a really late returning tour... not sure if you can see the time on the clock... all aboard was 430pm Yesterday I noted that a lot of the late returners didn't bother to sanitise their hands .... and loads of late returning kids were rubbing their hands together but hadn't actually used any sanitiser!!! It's 930pm and we're still moving at a snail's pace. Night night all xxx
