Just off the Liberty and I am a Diamond guest so we went directly to cabin....by 11 AM....which was nice......but our luggage and FTTF luggage in cabins near us didnt get delivered until after 2PM

So.....I'd be pissed if I had paid for that so-called perk....

:confused::confused: 2:00 is better than the 6:00 time we got it last time. Still time to unpack before Muster....I would be FINE with 2.:D:D

Sounds like your cabin was ready and you were among the first to board. 2:00 beats 8:00.

When were you expecting it?

FAQ

"Express Luggage

Your luggage will be expedited to your stateroom so you can unpack and don your cruise attire first!"

IMO that means that FTTF luggage will be delivered before the other cabins. It doesn't say your luggage will be there upon your arrival to your cabin. On our last 2 cruises with NCL our luggage was not delivered until dinner time. So I would think 2pm was a reasonable time.

Are you saying that everyone's luggage onboard was delivered at 2pm? Or just priority luggage like diamond, platinum and FTTF.

As a Diamond guest....I am ALWAYS among the first to board.......and I earned that perk the old way......by doing ALL those cruises.....(ha!!)......I was simply giving the FTTF folks some info......

If you dont care about when you get your bags.....then obviously my post was not directed to you.....

I was just passing along the info about it...

I think the question is when did the "regular" (non diamond/FTTF) guests get their luggage? If they got theirs at 2:00 pm like you and FTTF guests did, then I agree that this FTTF perk wouldn't have been of value.

It appeared to be everyone on our deck......in our area......cannot speak about rest of ship but all cabins in our area was getting at same time....

And just BTW....when the porter took our bags and saw they were priority.....he SAID the bags would be in the cabin before we would have time to get there....

Maybe he was angling for a bigger tip! Ha!

I don't know why they should be pissed that their bags came the same time as "Diamond guest".......and for the low price of fourty nine bucks.

I agree and if this was a reason that I had chosen to pay for this option. Then I would make sure I knew whether non-paying other's were getting theirs at the same time as I was and would bring this up to a higher power to find out what the reason was.

Sometimes there is a specific reason that things happen. Although I still say 2pm is not bad timing for my luggage delivery.

And, I don't understand why people feel the need to "TOOT" their horns about earning those benefits the "OLD FASHIONED WAY", by cruising. Well, now you can BUY that option and it appears to be popular:rolleyes: Yes, I have only cruised 3X, soon to be 4X, but for $50, if I can get to my cabin at the same time as you, you can bet your BIPPY, I am!!!!!:D:D:D:D

Problem with ship-side delivery I would wager. I watched the priority cart loaded on the ship at 10:45 a.m. 12/31/12 on Triumph. Our bags plainly visible on top. Bags arrived during muster drill. We're platinum. Obviously a CCL personnel issue, not the non-employee porters.

When we sailed on Carnival Dream we were told the same thing by the porter. May I ask you what deck number you were on? We were on deck 8 and we, as well as other FTTF got our luggage about 2:30 or perhaps a little later, even though we are Diamond and were on the ship by 10:45. I think that the idea is a great one, but I still think luggage is divided by decks and delivered the same way.

I think had we been in a cove balcony, our luggage would have been delivered much sooner. I could be wrong, but that's my take on it.

I agree with you. Geeze at the argumentative ones on here.

I purchased FTTF for my upcoming cruise. What time the luggage gets there will be of little consequence to me...I plan to put a change of clothes and my swim suit into my backpack. I bought the FTTF because I'll be flying in on a red-eye and want to be able to get onboard, drop my extras, change clothes, and get to a lounge chair ASAP. Luggage can come at 6pm and I won't mind. Of course, YMMV

We were on Empress Deck..... As I said before..... I'm Diamond so I didn't have to pay.....thought I was being nice to report the info that FTTF didn't get their bags any earlier than non paying for fTTF

You've paid a lot more then the 50.00 fttf pay to get the same perks getting to diamond -_-

FYI. The porters only take the bags into the terminal. Once inside, there are other people that sort the bags and separate the priority tagged bags (Platinum, Diamond and FTTF) from the others. There must have been a minor snafu in the terminal. Sorry. Can't fault the porters for this.

We are Platinum now on our last cruise. We got on board about 11:20 am. Our luggage came about an hour and half later.

To me just carry what you to have right of way. Wasn't to much of a big deal to us. We still got our luggage much sooner then most. :-)

Bag delivery has always been a crap shoot for me. I was talking with a casino dealer on a princess cruise in 2011 about how it all worked as they get drafted to move luggage and stuff on turnaround day. I got the notion from her that the biggest impact is how fast the cages are coming aboard. Your bags could be on the ship early but if the cage it is in has more come one right after then it could be one of the last distributed. She also said that baggage sorting on the ship gets last priority when they are loading provisions and it is only when the food gets put away that all the help gets focused on bags.

Sometimes my bag does beat me to the room and once I did not get the last until after dinner. To me it is just part of the process. My friend told me that tons of tags get lost in the shuffle so make sure they have other tags on them.

I know folks are all twitter patted about FTTF. If thats what floats your boat, go for it.

The only gripe I have about the whole thing is that the latest I have had to wait for my cabin to be ready is 12:30. Seems like 1:30 is the new standard. I wonder if the hour was added to add value for the priority folks. Sure would burn the biscuits of the privaledged class if everyone else did not have to wait a while. Oh well that is another topic. If it keeps them from raising the price of drinks I think they should expand the program.
