I'm just an active cruiser and quiet lurker...

East is east and west is west and because of the Ai one doen't know if your're coming or going or just been.

Enjoy aour cruise on the Atlantica.

Stalk - Day 17

From the photos and and map it looks like the Atlantica has gone straight to Phuket without first stopping in Patong, maybe they will be ther tomorrow. Beautiful day for tendering with sunny 31°C with a slight breeze, Atlantica arrived just over 1 hout ago.

So Mel will be setting foot on dry land, wondering if she is coming from a dry ship?

Last time we were in Phuket at night, the bar doormen were calling out "ladyboys, ladyboys", DW said "no thanks I've brought my own ladyboy" pointing at 100 Kg of saturated muscle namely me. :o See 3rd. photo that I used for a quick exit.

I love the Thai's attitude to health, in combing their fluid and vitamin intake, 4th. photo.

Silly Port / Place Quiz

Just try it, so don't Bilk at the answer.

In for a penny...... utterly wild guess : Potters Bar - now I don't know where that relates to a Port - only that Acker Bilk lived there - so I'll slink on back and try to work out the deck chair (no pun intended)

Liz, first off it is a Port / Place Quiz. But in this one deals with a port, you are on the right track with the name of person and town, only two words are required from the four. Look at the various word combination.

The deck chair is a rather naughty answer, hope you don't get left behind.;)

Alice?

But I've been to Alice and even the river bed is completely dry, so when they have a regatta, the competitors have ro run along the dry river bed with their feet sticking out of the bottom of the boat!

Silly Port / Place Quiz

Today we are looking not towards the Atlantica but the Atlantic:

"You get this when sitting too long in a deck chair"

So in the Atlantic, mist be an island or group of islands.

Sitting too long you get sores on your behind:

Arse Sores = Azores.

Stalk - Day 19

Today Mel in in the island paradise of Langkawi, 9 hours of pure bliss. It's a cool 26°C slightly overcast, himid with a chance of thunder storms and some rain.

Mel, in her last depatch, said that the ship had run out of draught beer and there were 1000 Germans onboard, the two together equates to mutiny. One of the evergreen songs at the Oktoberfest is "Es Gibt Kein Bier auf Hawaii", translated means There’s no beer in Hawaii. The thought of a thousand sober Germans onboard is enough to freeze hell. Of course if I was onboard I could stand up and tell the only known German joke (I think this has been confirmed by the Guinness Book of records):

"Do you know why the English drink so much tea?

No!

Have you ever tried their coffee."

The above song goes:

There’s no beer in Hawai’i, you’ll find no beer,

so I won’t go to Hawai’i, I’ll rather stay here.

It is so hot in Hawaii, no cool place to stay,

and just doing the hula won’t make the thirst go away.

Silly Port / Place Quiz

We are looking for a place (3 syllables, very cryptic), so put aside your Paper Tea cup and join the Society of winners.

"Thanks - for hotting up - my cuppa"

Tahiti ????

Tanya, first timer and you get it right. I thought this one might cause trouble. Well done.

For those still struggling, ;) so what do we have:

We are looking for a place (3 syllables, very cryptic), so put aside your Paper Tea cup and join the Society of winners.

"Thanks - for hotting up - my cuppa"

Society (Islands), Paper Tea = Papeete is the captial.

Ta (thanks) - heat (for hottibg up) - tea (cuppa) = Tahiti

Stalk - Day 20

Today we are in Port Klang, gateway (traffic allowing) to Kuala Lumpa (this would make a good quiz for our Ozzie friends - maybe later).

Atlantica is berth at the Star Cruiser Terminal - see 3rd photo.

Tomorrow is a sad day, Mel reaches Singapore (at least an overnighjter)

Silly Port / Place Quiz

Stalk - Day 21

This is the last Stalk for Mel's Atlantica cruise (well maybe one tomorrow to see her home).

It's been a long haul from Dubai to Singapore, but it was a cruise after all.

Weather is 32°C sunny, some clouds with a 10% chgance of rain.

Atlantica is berthed at thenew Internation CruisCentre in Marina Bay, rather than the old Cruise Terminal at Harbour Front (which I personally refer).

Mel enjoy your time in Singapore.

Silly Port / Place Quiz

Today we are looking for the old naming convention rather than the new political correct one.

"I phoned Peter Sellers or Spike Milligan or Harry Secombe"

Blondie, we are proud of you. So I gather there was no AI in "Live Below The Line".

So here are clues to Stalk - Day 17

"Famous English jazz clarinet player's favourite watering hole"

In for a penny...... utterly wild guess : Potters Bar - now I don't know where that relates to a Port - only that Acker Bilk lived there

Also still unsolved is Stalk - Day 20 which was:

"Digital Boogerectomy in Stereo"

With a clue that it is in the same region as Tahiti.

Stalk - Day Final :(:(:(

So Mel's journey of a life time (at least for 21 days) has now drawn to a close - sad day indeed. Hopefully she is spending a few days in Singapore and not suffering from AI withdrawal symptoms.

One last :

Silly Port / Place Quiz

"What did the Spanish Bull Fighter say when he stumbled"

So here's wishing Mel a good flight home.

Until the next Stalk with fair winds and calm seas.
