gazman51 Posted May 10, 2013 #1 Share Posted May 10, 2013 G'day We are having our first cruise on Diamond Princess commencing 25 th May ; Alaska. I read that breakfast times are 7.30 am to 9.30am Can we get an early breakfast on days where ship arrives in port at say 6.00 ? Or is bad luck either have breakfast OR see the town and take a tour ? Tiggertastic Posted May 10, 2013 #2 Share Posted May 10, 2013 There is usually something served early, often limited to continental but ships are 24 hour food so select to have room service breakfast delivered with a wider choice.
1025cruise Posted May 10, 2013 #3 Share Posted May 10, 2013 Port hours are taken into consideration for dining room hours. There is always continental room service that starts around 6:00. I believe the buffet will be open at 6 as well.
paul929207 Posted May 10, 2013 #4 Share Posted May 10, 2013 The buffet is usually open for breakfast at 6am. On early port days it will probably open earlier
skynight Posted May 10, 2013 #5 Share Posted May 10, 2013 The Horizon Ct Buffet will be open around 6AM for full breakfast, and may be open earlier with continental breakfast. The Lobby Bar may also have Danish.
Redgate76 Posted May 10, 2013 #6 Share Posted May 10, 2013 Hi are those times for he main dining room? Usually the HC is open from around 6.30. Room service is not always on time on port days as so many breakfasts to deliver, it will likely be running late so order early or go to Horizon Court. jean s Posted May 10, 2013 #7 Share Posted May 10, 2013 We often order room service breakfast for 6AM and it is always on time.
ctteach5 Posted May 10, 2013 #8 Share Posted May 10, 2013 When we sailed on the Ruby in the Mediterranean, many tours started at 7:00, and we got to the Horizon cafe a little after 5:00am. By this time, many people were there enjoying a full breakfast.:D
DoulaAnn Posted May 10, 2013 #9 Share Posted May 10, 2013 Several of our excursions were "off the boat by 7" last year in Alaska, and I never had a problem getting a full breakfast in the Horizon Court in time to get off (and I'm a slow eater at breakfast). Know you will have a great cruise (and be well fed, too). Ann

OCruisers Posted May 11, 2013 #11 Share Posted May 11, 2013 Thanks all for that info. looks like we can get breakfast and meet the early tour times For sure you'll want something for breakfast prior to heading out for the day. Do strongly suggest you plan on Horizon rather than room service. ;) LuLu ~~~~
