NCL Sky and the sea

As this is our first cruise and afraid of sea sickness which I know I am prone to, I wanted a mid ship ocean view cabin on a low deck. Our kids 21 and 16 are also coming and I wanted connecting rooms. The NCL rep suggested the Viking deck (8) in cabins 8018/8019 which are further forward on the ship, but he thought I'd be fine motion wise, so I booked those.

I am wondering if I should rebook to mid ship and forgo connecting cabins, just book the kids next to us because I am that worried about getting sick. We will be taking Bonine before we cruise.

How is the weather late April? Is the caribbean usually calm?

Any advice or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

You will feel any motion anywhere on the ship....with bonine, you'll be fine. While the lower, midship decks will experience the least movement (think of a see-saw..the middle moves the least)...the entire ship is floating on the ocean...ALL of it moves! You'll be fine.
