9 of us boarded the Splendor in NYC on Fri the 27th

1st ccl cruise for 6 off them, 8th for us. 30th overall

Food was excellent in MDR and wait staff was wonderful even with the many, many entrees and appetizers.

Brunch was very good, service eh

did not do lido

tea was nice, not so great service

we had a balcony, outside and 2 insides. Cabins were fine, stewards were ok.

Woman comic was horrible, Asian comic/juggler was great. Other comics were good.

PC was cool and breezy. Took shuttle to Ron Jon's then walked to beach.

Nassau was perfect weather. Walker to jitney, took #10 bus to Sheraton/Melia for day pass. Wonderful experience.

Diamonds Int'l not so much

Freeport we took taxi to junkanoo beach at Taino. Great beach day, found conch shells too.

Last 2 sea days were cool and the cold. rough water too.

Entire week no basketball which was extremely disappointing for the 3 boys. Got many different stories, not straight answers. Slide hardly open. Not a lot of activities other than trivia several times a day and art auctions.

Lots of places to sit and relax. casino extremely smoky.

loved the convenience of sailing from NYC. But you do lose warmth time!

Hi, Thank you for your review. I'm going on the Splendor 1/20, my first cruise.

Was there live music on the ship? Any good bars?

Did you feel safe in Nassau and Freeport?

On the return trip, did you feel ship moving a lot? Any seasickness?

Thanks for your insights.

Welcome back to the Arctic!!!

How much was the shuttle to Ron Jon's and how did you schedule it?

How much time did you spend at Junkanoo Taino and what time did you have to leave the beach tone back at the ship on time?

Thanks :)

Live music in the 3rd deck lobby and alongside the casino

Nassau was fine, walked a few blocks to grab jitney, and the beach at the Sheraton was beautiful

Taino was left around 1:30-2, about 20 minutes to port, board by 3

shuttle to ron jon was $12 ea way, walk off ship go straight, there's a man at a podium selling tickets. the beach is there as well

coming back Friday was rough, large waves. I think a lot of people were queasy

For OP: Freeport we took taxi to junkanoo beach at Taino.

What did the taxi cost to go to Junkanoo Beach at Taino? Have been to Freeport for land vacations and now thinking of a cruise that stops there. Is Taino near the Lucaya Marketplace?

it was a large van taxi and I think it was $7 pp each way

it will drop you off at the beach or the marketplace. they aren't walking distance

usually the 2nd day at sea and first back would be warmer than they were for us. florida was having a cold spell so for outside things needed jeans and long sleeves

Thanks for your review! Were beach towels provided at the Melia or did you bring your own?
