I've noticed there are still many good deals to be found on Liberty, Independence and Freedom even over Thanksgiving. My dilemma now is that I could book the 4 of us on one of these at about $1,600 vs the $3,600 we are paying for two rooms on the Allure for thanksgiving. I'm just not sure I would be happy making the switch since I've really wanted to get on the allure.

If there is anyone out there that would like to talk me into changing ships, I'm all for hearing it though. :)

Good luck to all

Debbie

$2000 is a lot of money! Take the good deal and save the $2000 for your next cruise. Our family just did Freedom in Sept and my husband (47), son (24)and son-in-law (23)fell in love with the flowrider. We also had our son and oldest daughter share our inside room a little crowded, but hey I'm all about saving money for my next trip!! Just booked all 6 of us on Liberty out of Barcelona in Sept. Sharing a room again with the big kids they are going for FREE except the $96 on taxes and $29 on the cruise care. I am a HAPPY cruiser!!!!!

4 people in an inside room is definitely no bargain. its awful tight.

It's a bargain for some of us! We had 4 of us (hubby & I and our 2 adult kids) in an inside room on Freedom in Sept and are booked for next Sept on Liberty We have a travel trailer and can handle being a little crowded when we only use the room to change, shower and sleep!!! Worth the $1200 savings to us!!

Hi, can anyone throw some light on this deal to a UK based cruiser. I can't see any sign of the promotion on the UK web site over here - is it certain cruises, categories of cabins, etc? Anyone any idea how I can find out more?

The only way you can do it is make sure you go to us site as opposed to uk site. You may need to clear your cookies first as even when you try to get there, my parents said it kept kicking them straight back to uk site. We are in usa so I eventually put hold on for them then rang the us number to make their payment. (They were not after the offer as just two in the cabin, but I can get the over 55 discount and the balcony discount for them here, which they struggle to get in uk) For the cost of a call to usa to make payment is worth the saving!

Good luck.

Anybody know if this promo can be combined with a NextCruise certificate?

I would love to get $100 OBC on top of one of the great rates I found through this promo.

Not sure, but I thought someone earlier reported being denied because of the "new booking" restriction. A Next Cruise would be an existing booking.

Both RCI and Norwegian have the kids sail free special going on now. However:

(1) We prefer OVs (my wife is mildly claustrophobic and needs natural light, but has concerns about our younguns on a balcony.)

(2) RCI also has the "free upgrade to balcony" special. Which, of course, means that the OV price is inflated significantly.

(3) NCL is not running both specials simultaneously.

Result:

* Cheapest OV on the Navigator this fall: $1,448 base price for the four of us. And we'd be sharing Cozumel with five other ships, including the Allure. To move to a sailing with less-crowded ports, the cheapest OV is $2,088. Not worth it.

* Cheapest OV on the NCL Jewel this fall: $956 for four. For $100 more we can choose an itinerary that shares Coz with just one other ship and docks/tenders alone at the other two. Hooray for reduced crowds!

The Jewel doesn't have as many bells and whistles, but it should be good enough for a vacation that we didn't know we would be taking until just a couple of days ago. :)

The August 9 Explorer sailing had crap availability. They didn't have any more inside-to-oceanview upgrades, or any more oceanview-to-balcony upgrades. The best they could do was $3397 for the four of us for a D1 balcony, which for a 5-night sailing didn't impress me much. Looks like the kids will go to camp that week after all!

Same cabin, now $3118. :)

Bermuda cruises are ALWAYS more expensive: High demand, high taxes.

Yes, I was able to use it to book my November Allure cruise with my children free.

We sailed on NCL's Jewel last September and loved her. Great ship. $956 for four people sounds incredible. Great to see everyone getting such nice deals!:)

In case anyone was following my drama with this sale, I'm happy to report that after a week RCCL did honor the sale price for my friends so everyone in our group will be going on our Thanksgivibg cruise on the Allure. $2,334 for a family of 4. A great deal IMO. So excited!

Just want to share my experience with the sale...

I canceled and rebooked for my sailing and ended with a net savings of $2,460.

My TA charged me $200 for cancelling, and I also lost my balcony discount because I used BOA Visa points for a cruise credit ($2,500). They originally gave me the balcony discount and BOA credit, but when I rebooked they took the balcony discount away as they are not combinable (so they say but it probably depends on which RCCL agent books).

Anyway it's a great sale and I'm certainly glad we are able to re-book with this one....

I also had the same thing happen with a hold on march 1st and just got a call today from an Executive Guest Specialist that my reservation was re-instated at the KSF price and to go ahead and make my deposit!

Although it is only a 5 day cruise in August on Explorer for 3 people @$2,334

I had my heart set on it and no airfare to Bayonne :)

WTG Royal Caribbean! :D

This REALLY worked out well for us. We booked 4 for an inside cabin on Serenade of the Seas for 12 days in the Mediterranean this summer at $3698 total. Now I've booked air round trip from Philadelphia to Barcelona for $846 per person (peak summer travel time). Hard to beat 12 days in Med, including airfare, for $7000 for four people. So what if we're sardines in the cabin!

I love hearing everyone's good deals! Truly, RCI tends to be a bit pricier than other lines, but their itineraries and children's amenities always seem to work better for our family whenever I search for a cruise. We just got back from Indy 8-night, and just reserved another cruise for this Thanksgiving.

Our deal: 7-Night Thanksgiving sailing on Adventure OTS, 2 adults + 2 kids in the very last aft D1 left on Deck 10, total with all taxes and charges: $2750. It's not staggeringly good, but I've rarely seen a D1 for 4 ppl below $4000 on a holiday week.
