Your review is right on time. So glad you mentioned this in FB as I would not have found it.

My Mom and I are doing the last "Cultural Cruise" in April then the rep to FLL. Can't wait. I am so enjoying your review.

Thanks.

Kathleen

Oh.....I am so jealous!! Would love to be able to do that! Have fun!

Hi, Jane! Loving following your review! So detailed and informative with lovely pics (and you look lovely in you lovely pics:)). Btw was the pool in Aruba part of the Lions resort or Mambo...i thought Mambo but wanted to be sure. Good heads up on the ship being empty in the am...with everything being in Spanish, maybe that'll push us to get to bed early. Was any movie shown in English? PS You have now become my honorary travel agent par excellence.;)

Ha Ha! Thanks!!

That pool you are referring to was in Curacao and it is part of Mambo Beach. Yes....there were lots of movies shown in English on the big screen and some in the cabin, but we didn't see any. I did a lot of reading on this trip......read 5 books!!

Tonight was formal night again, so we got dressed up again.

As we got off the elevator on Deck 11 to go to the Concierge Lounge tonight, we were greeted by a bunch of Officers. We didn't know what was going on at first, but it was the Suite Guests party. The officers were calling us by name and asking us to stay, etc.. We saw Julie and Joel there because they were in a GS, so we sat with them.

Julie and Joel were eating with the Hotel Director tonight. Soon this party ended, so we moved on over into the CL. During our CL time we heard the "Bravo, Bravo, Bravo" call and said, "Uh - oh!" (That means there is a fire somewhere!) Our friend, Frank, was eating in Chops and the Capt. was having a farewell dinner in there for the Staff Captain. He said that they all calmly, but quickly, got up from the table and made their way to the entrance, then all went running in different directions. It turned out to be a small incident in the crew laundry room. It was taken care of quickly......something about a dryer. In about 15 minutes the Capt. announced that all was well. Then I think the Officers continued their dinner.

Dinner in the MDR was good. We sat next to a honeymoon couple from St. Louis and we enjoyed talking to them. Tonight John had the Prime Rib and I had the Lobster, but on the menu they called it Giant Shrimp. It WAS big.

This was John's Prime Rib. He said it was good.

This was the dessert that was recommended by the waiter tonight. I was underwhelmed by it. Probably won't get this again!

The casino called again after dinner, but we should not have answered. We both lost and I broke yet another machine!!

Bed time! I think this is the smallest towel animal that we have ever had!

No.....unfortunately the second week we docked on the Outside.

Jane,

The second week did you have to tender in? Where did you stop or dock? We docked inside last year on Grandeur. Didn't even know that we might dock outside!

Your pictures are stunning. I wish we had the beautiful Caribbean Blue ocean here in Panama! :) My I ask what type of camera you used?

Friday ~ Feb. 14, 2014 ~ At Sea

Slept in a little today. Usually at this time in a cruise....it starts to get a little stressful, but we had one more week.....so we had a very relaxing day! I just love B2B's!!

Breakfast was lovely! We always start out with a half a grapefruit.

After breakfast we hung out in the CL for a little while. We were going to use our free Wi-Fi today, but the mouse on the CL was broken. So we went down to Deck 6 to get our user names and passwords....however my card was de-magnetized and I had to get that fixed first.

The Wi-Fi worked great everywhere we used it.....mainly in the CL and our cabin AND it was not terribly slow. I was impressed.

We also got our pictures today and browsed in the Shops on Board. Whoa!! The shops were jammed. I couldn't believe how much stuff everyone was buying!!

Oh no......no tendering. The Outside dock is fine, just not as convenient as the Inside dock. We've always docked on the Outside, so I didn't know any different.

The camera that I use is a fairly new one. It's a Sony Nex5R. It's kind of a point and shoot, but a little bigger and has interchangeable lenses. And it acts like an SLR. I have really enjoyed it. We also have an old Nikon D-60 that makes great pictures as well.

From one Jane to another, I am really enjoying your review. All of your reviews are wonderful but I think this is the best. So many wonderful pictures of the ship, of the beach and of your excursions. Thank you for sharing with all of us.

Always good to hear from another Jane! Actually.... a lot of my friends are named Jane! Glad you are enjoying the review.

Jane, here I am again.

I looked at Vision Deck plans today and upset to see that it doesn't show a centrum elevator past deck 9. But, in your post today, you state you took the elevator to deck 11

I sure do hope the deck plans are wrong, as I will be using a cane on this cruise. Was planning to use the Cl lounge in AM and PM

The glass elevators at the centrum go to deck 11. The others across from them only go to deck 9.

We will be in Curacao in May - the last port of a port intensive B2B on the Jewel! We have never been there. We will be on a tour in the morning. the last stop is Seaquarium Beach and we will have the option of either staying at the beach or heading back to the ship. We are leaving it up in the air at this point. My first thought was to return to the ship, have lunch and then going to the markets for shopping. However, I am NOT a big shopper and your pictures of the beach next to Sea Aquarium are mighty tempting.......Decisions, decisions........

Jane,

You are posting too fast, I want to savor this. :D Looks like the two of you had a fantastic time. Thank you for posting all your pictures and reporting on what looks to have been a fabulous cruise.

We are taking the cue from you for beach days in January when we embark on Oasis for a western cruise. Nothing but beach, beach and beach for Labadee, Falmouth and Cozumel. :)

Loved your review Jane. I am now considering altering our beach in Aruba. Our current plans were to take the kids to Eagle's Beach, but the beach you went to seems so nice. Since you've been to both -- which do you think 3 teenagers would like more?

I am so enjoying your review, I have read quite a few of them. I believe you also know our dear friends Lisa and Guy from Tucson. We will be having dinner with them on Saturday. I told Lisa today that you had a new review of the Vision, she said you usually send her a copy. Looking forward to the rest of your review. :D

We had a great cruise. But we didn't love it that there where some may things in spanisch. But the ports where great and the ship was also great.

Glad you had a good time. The Spanish didn't bother us a bit. The fact that everything was so late did, though. But that was OK. We went to bed early and got up early and had the ship to ourselves most of the time!!

I know what I would do......skip the tour and head to the beach for the day!!! And I'm serious!! Those port intensive cruises are exhausting. Good luck with you decision.
