Can you still smoke in...........?

I am not sure I am allowed to post the brands and where I got them. I know we aren't allowed to post travel agencies, not sure of other things. Does anyone know if I am allowed to post that info.?

I think it's ok. The ban on TA's is so the site doesn't get overrun with TA's adverts/solicitations. I doubt that would happen for e-cigs. Certainly people have posted brands of cameras, wireless media drives, power adapters, etc.

Congratulations on your success in quitting smoking! As long as you're speaking of empty elevators, hallways, etc - I completely agree with everything you've said. I can't imagine you getting "caught" in your stateroom. As for balconies, hallways, bathrooms etc - just try to make sure you can't be readily seen/observed - there will always be a militant anti-smoker "snitch-busybody" to ruin things for you.

Thanks :)

We are aware of the 'Anti-Smoke Police", so we were pretty careful to not be seen doing it and the slight aroma was gone before anyone would have been able to detect it. :D

What is a bun fight? Never heard that one before.

As a non-militant, non-smoker I agree with the above. If there's a smoking area you should use it without any grief. The casino on Freedom class can easily be avoided, you have to go up and down a flight of stairs but for most of us that's a good thing!

"bun fight!

A sustained, overblown argument about a petty matter, usually personal in nature to the participants but not to everyone else. :)

I enjoy my cruise vacations and I'm not one for walking on peoples feet for the sake of it, or come to it being ignorant. just because I'm on holiday I don't use it as an excuse not to be courteous. I see both sides of a dispute but feel in this case that once the pre-determined areas are made there can be no animosity shown towards individuals who stick to those guidelines. There are always extreme individuals from both ends of the spectrum but I generally find that people are in general accommodating if approached with respect and shown it in return. talk down to someone, treat someone with contempt or presume superiority is a sure fire way of a poor outcome for both parties.

I'll take your word for it.

I have two atmos tanks Pro-T Mini Cartridge Clear with the atmos base. They are almost identical to the Kanger mini Protank-2 clearomizer. I do use the Kanger coils in them.

I prefer the slimmer batteries and tanks. Hubby has different ones because he prefers the bigger ones (Boys and their toys) :D

As for where the batteries and tanks were purchased some were online and some from a local store. Can't remember which parts from where. If you look there some great deals. Just make sure you are getting the real thing, not a knock-off.

We buy the coils on ebay. You have to make sure they are real Kanger coils, the fake ones are nowhere near as good or long-lasting. It should have Kanger printed on the foil and should come in a black box.

As for liquids, My favorite combination is to almost fill the tank with Halo Brand LongHorn E-liquid and then to add a few drops of US Made eLiquid - Fire Cured Virginia. I only use liquids made in the US by reputable companies. I have tried many flavors, and for me this is the best.

To purchase the liquids, we buy Halo directly from the halocigs website and fire-cured from myvaporstore website.

Here in NJ we have no smoking in restaurants, bars, outside and even this year they are banning it on some beaches. BUT we have Atlantic City and our casinos and even though there is no smoking in the restaurants there is smoking in the casino, all over the casinos. I don't smoke and I don't mind smoke, it doesn't seem to bother me but it was getting quite hazy there last time we went down. I did ask one of the pit bosses why there were so few non smoking gambling areas, he replied in NJ that a lot of the smokers were gamblers and that they were the majority @ the moment.

For RCC I believe it is the non smokers who are the majority and Royal is catering to that. I do think there should be a dedicated area for smokers as mentioned just not the casino.

Anyway, can anyone please tell me if there is a Cigar area on the Rhapshody for my hubby to grab a cigar?

Totally agree.

When smoking was allowed on the balconies, I always advised people here that if they had a smoking neighbor, rather than demand that he/she stop, they should ask nicely and perhaps offer to buy them a drink or bottle of wine. It's important in these situations to recognize were the "power" is in an interaction in terms of who's got the rules on their side, and who's most affected by the situation. if the power is with the other person your negotiations should reflect that.

Sometimes my staff will say something along the lines of "why is that our job?" and I'll say "because if it doesn't get done we're the ones who will be screwed."

I can honestly say that I would never and have never forced my habit onto someone who approached me and asked if I could refrain while they were present. I have had it happen a few times and simply responded with an "Of course no problem". It just doesn't happen that often because generally people would either presume a negative response or enter into a request prepared for aggression. nine to ten a smoker would normally respond in kind to a reasonable request in a respecting manner. I am not a mind reader and if someone joins me or an area I'm and says nothing I probably won't even think of the issue. If however I join someone else or an area not identified as non smoking I would probably ask if they mind if I smoke. different on a cruise ship where there are recognised areas and the prior knowledge of the rules, if I am in a smoking area I take it for granted that I'm doing nothing wrong.

Unfortunately we live in a world now where courtesy and is fast becoming a foreign concept. "Smoking" is now looked upon as being antisocial which it probably is but I believe society has taken it to the next level by presuming "Smokers" should be treated as such instead of accommodating them sensibly without making them feel like they are a leper colony of old.

there are sensible alternatives many that have been raised on this forum which would please most from both parties. As for the casino personally I don't care where I smoke so long as I can do it legally without being scorned like a child, frowned upon or read a riot act. I'm a big boy with a vice that I'm already aware of from my wife thank you very much lol. I have no desire to smoke in an area that breeds further discontent from my fellow human beings and when I leave that sordid area and return I can still prove to be quite a respectable individual that many a antismoking lobbyist would probably find interesting, funny, charming and !! OK you get the idea!:D

Well said and I agree whole heartedly.

On our last cruise we sat down to smoke while gambling. There were ashtrays next to several if the machines however it was a non-smoking area (we didn't see the sign). A fellow cruiser brought it to our attention that it was a non-smoking area. We were thankful that she did since we try to only smoke where it is allowed. We were in the wrong but our fellow cruiser was still courteous about our goof which we appreciated. On the other side of the spectrum we were in the smoking section and another fellow cruiser shot daggers at us and made some pointed comments to her friend that were meant to be overheard. She quickly left the area in a huff but went to another smoking area. She was so rude that I was tempted to follow her with my cigarette. Of course I wouldn't do that but the tantrum was unnecessary. I respond very well to polite requests to extinguish my cigarette or she could move to the non-smoking area.

That's why when I organize group trips at church for the casino we go to Wisconsin or Indiana. Smoking and gambling go hand in hand for some people. I could not fill the bus if we went to the nearby casino's.

Well no offense to anyone but smoking is a form of gambling.

As are other behaviors, some of which I enjoy, so I'm not "holier than thou."

I disagree with you. For every person who does not wish to cruise with RCI due to the smoking policy, there is someone else who does. :)

Yep. In fact, cruise lines that have not yet changed their policy are no longer a consideration of mine. So that means even more RCI bookings for me in the near future.

There is a casino near my house that allows smoking. When I smoked cigs I would encounter the same type of people making faces and comments or better yet, the people who would wave their hand almost in my face to push the smoke away. I would politely recommend they move to the non-smoking section or go the another local casino that doesn't allow smoking.

Now that I am vaping, sometimes the smoke bothers me. When it does, I don't say a word, I just move to another area. Smokers have very few places where they are entitled to smoke. I will not be one of those people that try to take that away from them.

We have a couple of casinos fairly close by in Oklahoma. I thought I would get a lot of dirty looks/ hand waving because frankly it happens everywhere else I go but I've never received it there (that I've noticed at least). Might be why we gable so much.....lol

That's why we head east to Yonkers - completely non-smoking casino.

Love the vape talk! My husband and I use eGo c-twist 1300 mAh with Smok cartos and tanks. We get our juice from Alice in Vapeland (online) or Avail Vapor here in VA. Our favorite flavors are lemon cake, Persian winter (tobacco, melon and spices), earl grey tea, and lychee. Happy vaping! :)

I understand it would take up valuable room for gambling, but could a corridor not be made at one side to by-pass the casino. This would provide a safe passage for both non smokers who do not wish to use the facilities and children?

Combined with that electronic doors at each end of the casino to contain the smoke. Another option would be to physically divide the casino with a glass wall into smoking and non smoking. The latter would not spoil the ambiance as the whole area could be seen, each side could have identical facilities. RCI get the best of both worlds, and revenue from both smokers and non smokers.

Allowed is probably the word you are looking for. Except for in your own home I am not sure that anyone is entitled to be able to smoke any where.

If I was looking for the word allowed, I'm pretty sure I would have found it. Thanks for trying to clear up my thoughts for me, but I think I can handle that job.

Fair enough. Name one place, other than your own property, where you are entitled to smoke.

In this case, onboard an RCI ship, you're ENTITLED to smoke whereever RCI policy/rules allow. Entitled/allowed in this case are completely interchangeable. What's with trying to make out that they mean completely different things??

Oooh, a word play argument! I like those.

I think "entitled" implies more that it is someone's right, which in turn implies that it can't be taken away easily. The word comes of course from the Middle Ages and refers to giving someone a title, which was essentially a claim on some land.

"Allowed" on the other hand to me suggest more of a "tolerance," as in "we'll allow that for now." This implies more of a favor or privilege that could easily be taken away.

So I would guess that smokers would prefer to use the word entitled, and non-smokers allowed.

Just my 2 cents.

I think you're correct, but the differences seem slight - after all, your entitlement at home could be taken away, because your partner develops a sensitivity, because you have a child, or (read about this one) because the home you own is a condo and the governing association passes rules forbidding it due to (real or imagined) smoke penetration/seepage between units.

Just seems like a really stupid thing for the poster to start an argument about, and accuse the one who used it of using the wrong word.
