Everything.. ESCAPE (live 29 Oct 2015!)

Recommended Posts

RCL has a similar pub concept with a pretty diverse beer selection and they are frequently empty. The same can be said for RCL's Vintages wine bars, which I believe are being phased out. The District and the Mondavi joints on Escape are roughly the same concept. It will be interesting to see where the crowds end up on NCL's iteration and if they are as popular as they have potential to be.

I have seen the pub quite crowded on RCI a lot of times depending on the entertainment offered. I don't recall as many draught beers available in the RCI pubs either. Vintages on the other hand seems to always have a few people coming going throughout the evening.

Thank you so much! Did it have a sofa bed as well with the curtain divider?

Yep, sleeps 4. When you walk in: bathroom right, left a "garage" cave like place for the sofa bed and lots of space, forward the single porthole, a table with two comfy chairs in the middle, bed to the left, wardrobe left of the porthole under the slope. If it makes any sense. Spacious room and would def. pick this one over sideways OV.

This is great news. We will be just aboce this cabin In 12700 with my 3 year old! Some space for her to play!

The Haven deck 16 door from fwd stair case. It's tucked away in the passage to the pool deck.

To the right is the Haven door.

Thanks Freestyle.

I am a little bit confused as to the exact location of the door to the Haven on Deck 16. Does the sliding door in the picture have direct access to the pool or to the side of the ship. I am trying to figure out how to get to the spa suites and Haven from the pool deck since the elevators are right in front of the pool and it is a very crowded area.

DH has finished his report about the Escape. The text is in German but you can use google translate. He´s focusing on the differences between Escape and Getaway. Two videos are included (Aqua Racer and Ropes Course - BTW I´m the one in the purple jacket). On the last page he has added his 360° panorama photos (you can "navigate" through the room).

And I found this 9 min plus

showing the departure and fireworks last Friday.

Awesome video's and photos...thank you

Question: They are allowing camera's (gopro) on ropes course and aqua racer?

They wouldn't allow me to take my GoPro down the one slide on Getaway that you stand in and wait for the floor to open. That was in February 2014.

Thank you, good to know. We are doing b2b Escape/Getaway and want to be able to use a GoPro on ropes and smaller water slides if not allowed on the drop slides.

Just got back home from the 2 day from Hamburg, I can only compare this ship to the Epic. The Escape is fantastic so well laid out, different bars with different ambiance we had a lot of fun and now slightly exhausted!!

I don't have many photos but can answer questions if I can.

We were in 9320 which is an aft facing balcony. We were sharing it with my 70 year old mum so had it set up as twins and the sofa being made up each night. Mum is in a wheelchair however her goal seemed to get us to whiz her round the ship to see as much as possible.

I was allowed to use a GoPro on the Breakaway Ropes Course this summer.

Working out how to add photo!!! compared to say a mid ship balcony it was at least 1.5 times bigger. For 3 of us large amount of space the balconies are very deep.

That area appears to be very much like the Breakaway and Getaway. The sliding door goes out to the deck - not part of the Haven. The Haven entrance door is tucked in just before that sliding door - when you enter the Haven through that door it takes you to the bar/lounge/concierge area and the Courtyard/pool is accessible from there.

If you are referring to direct access from the regular pool area to the Haven - like the elevator on the Epic - I'm not sure that's available. It was not on the -Aways.

Thanks. I was trying to get an idea about the set up in that area considering that there are elevators, stairs and the door to the Haven (stairs) because the Haven is on Deck 17 and 18. Additionally, the entrance the Haven spa suites is also located in that area.

Hi there - I heard you can't smoke in the casino at the machines but only in a lounge? Is this true? If so is everyone allowed in the lounge? How was the ship compared to the Getaway?

Good point! I'm guessing that door is really on 17 - not 16 - since the Haven is 17, 18 and the sun deck on 19??

There's a classic moment about 25 minutes in to it where he walks through the Food Republic and just goes right up to some random people eating at their table-for-two and he just starts shooting video of their food. They played along quite nicely, though.

It was amazing how busy the Food Republic was! It seems to be a big hit.

Yes I noticed that too. Thanks for the link. I think I can speak German after watching that;)

I think that the door shown in the picture by Freestyle is actually on deck 16 but it only gives you access to a staircase that takes you to deck 17.

I am hoping that Freestyle will be able to give us more information about this area of the ship.
