hollon Posted April 9, 2014 #1 Share Posted April 9, 2014 We renewed our passport about a month ago (I think), I went to travel.state.gov to where it says "check status on passports" and it says it will take about four to six weeks from when they received them. What is the timeline when yall have gotten them back. We sail May 24, anybody???? :)
Cruising89143 Posted April 9, 2014 #2 Share Posted April 9, 2014 I renewed mine two months ago but I paid for rush processing. From mail time to receiving was eight days.
nascar junkie Posted April 9, 2014 #3 Share Posted April 9, 2014 1st time getting them and they actually came in about 3 weeks. There's a website you can go to to check status. I forgot what it was but just put passport status in a search engine and it should identify it.

Capt_BJ Posted April 9, 2014 #7 Share Posted April 9, 2014 just got mine back 17 days from mailed out to back in the mailbox ... standard processing I mailed priority mail for tracking purposes and they were returned priority main which Passport Agency says they do now as 'standard' for tracking purposes . . . cozzello Posted April 9, 2014 #8 Share Posted April 9, 2014 I sent mine priority mail on March 11, website status still processing. I don't sail until Mid June so I was not in a hurry. Good Luck, I am sure they are on their way. Cherylo

jailer19 Posted April 9, 2014 #10 Share Posted April 9, 2014 I think I got mine back within 2 weeks, it was super fast processing. I also went from a card to the book, they sent the card back seperate and that took longer.

Fitzget Posted April 10, 2014 #16 Share Posted April 10, 2014 I JUST renewed mine. I'm traveling out of the country (for work) on May 18th, and they told me I didn't need to rush it, it wouldn't take very long. Fingers crossed, but she said probably about 3 weeks. FromSea2ShiningSea Posted April 10, 2014 #17 Share Posted April 10, 2014 The website said it'd take 4-6 weeks. I sent my applications March 3, First Class Mail and received them in 3 weeks. The old passports came back about a week later. You should be getting yours anytime soon.
Noelchristian92610 Posted April 10, 2014 #18 Share Posted April 10, 2014 Varies widely, but ours took 2 weeks with standard processing when we applied for them for the first time. We used a post office in Taylor, Tx because everywhere else in Austin was booked for months!
Eckton Posted April 10, 2014 #19 Share Posted April 10, 2014 Three weeks.

HazyDavey Posted April 10, 2014 #21 Share Posted April 10, 2014 I'm at 6 weeks for a renewal - still waiting. My daughters received their first passports in 3 weeks. All 3 started at the same time.
denamo Posted April 10, 2014 #22 Share Posted April 10, 2014 Recommended on the travel.state.gov website: If possible, you should renew your passport approximately nine months before it expires. Some countries require that your passport be valid at least six months beyond the dates of your trip. Some airlines will not allow you to board if this requirement is not met. Anyone have any problems not following this guideline?
Nhsaltshaker Posted April 10, 2014 #23 Share Posted April 10, 2014 I'm due for renewal. Do you keep the same passport number issued to you or are you given a new one?
Docker123 Posted April 10, 2014 #24 Share Posted April 10, 2014 My daughter just renewed hers here in Australia. Took 2 weeks. Oh, that is her American passport. I get amused by those who complain about the cost on CC. My kids are dual Oz/US citizens. So 2 passports each. Double the fun, double the cost. Don't leave home without them.
