Shyhova Sails Again! Carnival Victory Photo Review( Jamaica & Grand Cayman) Apr 2014

You didn't think she wouldn't get fruit did ya? LoL...She got 2 starters..of course the second was...

 

 

I had heard good things about Carnival's broccoli and cheese so I got that

 

 

It was ok...neither broccolily nor cheesy enough....is broccolily a word?

 

 

The GF chose the grill fish...

 

 

That Mac and Cheese wasn't bad btw...

 

And I got the Lasagna Bolognese...

 

 

It was good, but had way too much spinach in it...and the beef was ground a little bit too fine...but I'm just nit picking...it was Good...

 

I of course ended with the WCMC with 2 Ice Creams(Shout to GPearl)...

 

Dinner was good....We were kinda hoping to be seated with multiple people but we had a 2 top...I know we could've asked tobe reseated but we just let it go....

After reading all the hype about your first review I've started reading it to hold me over until you add another section to this one. I can't stop laughing!

 

I noticed you posted pics of the Fun Times from that cruise. Do you have any pics of the Fun Times from this cruise? I would like to get an idea of all the events I wanna check out and find out who is DJing.

We headed up to lido to catch the sunset....then took a nap before catching the welcome aboard show...

 

 

 

 

 

 

We got there a bit early and caught the last bit of bingo.....this lady on our row won $500....

I LOVED Victory's Cruise Director Troy....He was really funny and QUICK WITTED...He may even be quicker than me...and that's saying something. My GF kept trying to get me picked togo on stage a couple different times during the cruise. I guess I wasn't wacky enough idk....But, I would have liked to spar with Troy a little bit lol...

 

Almost forgot...before we went to the theatre for the show, we stopped by the liquor tasting...

 

 

 

The liquor tasting lines be so EPIC don't they? LoL...

 

 

I will say this...On the Fantasy, they were a little stingy with the liquor...On Victory??....THey were pouring shot after shot after shot...You could have got a nice FREE buzz at the tasting.....which I Umm...DiD lol...

 

Back in the theatre...

 

TROY

 

 

This dude was funny...Troy asked him where he was from?...NC...WHOOP WHOOP!!!!....So I was like this is gonna be good....So Troy asked who he was with?..." My girlfriend...my umm...my sister..." Troy interrupts..." Are they the same person?"...Ha..." I said I was from NC...not WEST Virginia"...Everybody was like ooooooooohhh....Troy was like "Sry West VA"...He had a good feel for picking people cause everyone was pretty funny...I enjoyed the show allot.

 

 

As for Victory's singers/dancers?....

 

The girl who sings lead is REALLY talented...The guy is O K....but the shows are just old-timey imo....It could use a little more...."soul"

 

We were pretty beat by the end of that show, so we went back to the room and called it a night...and guess what?....No towel animal...Sheesh!! We hadn't really met our steward AND he/she didn't leave an animal...no Bueno.

Our Day at sea was pretty uneventful...We slept in a bit then went up to grab a bite to eat...

 

 

Can you guess who had grapefruit for breakfast? Im telling you...This woman is gonna birth a Honeydew Melon one day.....

 

We kind of just walked around a bit...went up to Serenity and played a lil Clamshell Roulette and just relaxed here and there....

 

 

 

Nice bar by the shops that they don't even use at all...

 

 

 

 

 

I stopped at this little grill by the aft pool and ordered a Jesus omelet...I really did say " I'll have a Jesus omelet please"....The Korean dude manning the station looked at me like " WtH you "talmbout" sir?......So I just hung my head and ordered an omelet....it was good....but not what I ordered...I was seeking divine intervention in a grease pan.....WHat I got was just a good omelet.....

 

But I would seek it out throughout the cruise and I DID get one...but more on that later...

Aft Pool...

 

 

Victory has an awesome aft pool on lido deck that can be covered and uncovered...it is flanked by two hot food stations and a bar...

 

 

We went back to the room to catch a nap before the Master Mixology contest...My GF was adamant she wanted to enter, but she was sure she wouldn't get to because so many people always sign up its hard to get chosen...

 

While she slept I caught some Smurfs..

 

 

Who lays in the bed watching The Smurfs while on a cruise?....ME!!...It's MY CRUISE dammit lol....

 

I don't understand Gargamel...Who wants to eat little blue rodents with socks on and human faces? I woke the GF up and we headed up to lido to grab a drink and see if we can get in the contest...

 

 

The deck was PACKED...and the only seat we could find was in the upper deck in the sun....So we laid there turning into raisins when they announced they were taking entries....The GF goes " whoo babe...I am about to bake...go on over there and put my name in the contest...bring me back some water"....Sheesh...yes dear...

 

I didn't know that when you submit you have to name your drink...AND list the ingredients, choose over the rocks/frozen etc....

 

So here I am...on the other side of the world, entering her in a contest and I have no idea what she wants to name it...what she wants to put in it...anything....So Essentially...Its up to me.

 

Now yall know I know fruity drinks lol....I came up with something called the FUnship Freestyle....Frozen with vodka...pineapple juice, peach puree, a strawberry daiquiri base with a splash of oj....

 

We waited for about an hour till it was time for them to announce the participants...and of course they called the GF's name....

 

 

I couldn't see her from way over where I sat so I had to join her....

She was one of 4 contestants....Her, two other girls and a guy....

 

 

I named this crew member "Pluto" Mars lol...

 

 

In the mixology contest everyone has to mix their own drinks, then they have to mix the drinks" dance...twerk...anything to get the crowd into it"....then serve it to the judges who judge the "performance" taste of the drink etc...

 

 

 

 

 

You know at this point I'm screaming " Shake it babyyy!!!!"

 

 

The first girl was ok...she got the crowd into it a lil...her drink went over O K with the judges...

 

The second girl....She almost twerked herself OUT OF her Bikini....Of course that got the crowd hype....but her drink was almost ALL Tequila...I could tell the judges weren't fans...

 

Then it was my GF's turn...She made a good drink...VERY FRUITY lol...and did her lil twerk and got the crowd into it...the judges loved our drink but they said it needed more alcohol...Fair...but that can be fixed easy....So I'm thinking we got this in the bag...

 

That's when the last contestant's turn came....the guy...

 

I am not making this up...Guess what this guy did for a living? He was a professional, fire breathing bartender......YEA....THATS who we had to beat...

 

He didn't do his fire-breathing trick( I'm guessing carnival told him he couldn't do that on the ship)...But he was taking bottles of liquour and juggling them...twirling around....catching the bottles in the cups....

 

I'm standing there like.....Aint this about a B%#$!!

 

Of course, he wowed the crowd and made a tasty drink...THATS WHAT HE DOES FOR A LIVING!!!

 

You already know I didn't win anything in the casino on this cruise right? Yea...that's the kind of luck THIS guy has lol...

 

Needless to say we came in second.....

 

Did Carnival "cheat" me out of a win....lol...not really...but How were we supposed to win that Cruise Critic??

I'm so glad you got pics of the Fun Times. You've already partially answered one of my questions but I specifically want to know about:

 

1) Singing/dancing shows (I would like a good performance where I won't feel like I wasted my time when I could've been doing another activity)

2) The adult comedy shows (I need funny/raunchy)

3) Info on the night club/DJ if yall went (my homegirls are hell bent on going out at least 2-3 nights :( smh. Am I gonna be twerking or fist pumping most of the night?

I was just on the Victory in January and remember this crew member......He could dance his ass off! We enjoyed watching him dance in all the contests and line dances. He had more rhythm than most people I know. :)
