As soon as we stepped on board the Captain sounded an alarm and they rushed us all thru the security point to a back hall way and another security screening area. I had just laid my GoPro on the belt and when I picked up my things I left it......

By the time we got to our room we were already steaming away from Grand Turk;

The azipods appeared to be nearly even as we left Grand Turk;

After getting pics of our wake as we left Grand Turk I came in to the cabin to transfer the days pictures to my laptop and couldn't find the GoPro anywhere. It was then that I realized I had left it on the XRay belt in Security after the alarms went off. I called the pursor's desk and asked who I would need to call and they gave me a number and asked what I had lost. I said I left my GoPro on the XRay belt and she said 'we have that right here!' I was amazed that they not only had it, but the person I called was who had it! I sent Britt down to get it and he brought it up. I edited out the video it captured up until the battery died, but there was some very funny audio with it. Crew members are definitely honest people, but without a doubt they are quite wild.

After our day in Grand Turk we were quite hungry, but the boys insisted on the dining room;

We waited for our table at the bar;

After a short wait we were seated and got to watch the magician performing tableside;

What is with the lines at GT? I've never encountered that when I've been there. That's nuts!

We were there in November on Conquest and Glory was in port, too, and even with that many pax, there weren't long lines.

Now that I think about it, there might have been. It poured rain that morning and I ended up just going back to the ship around noon (I normally sit down at that end toward the conch graveyard). So maybe there were long lines before we departed and I was just back on board super early.

But I've never seen lines like that when I've been there (on Miracle, Glory, and a couple of times on Fantasy and one I've forgotten - probably Elation).

I'm officially ON VACATION! I need to see the rest of this review before we sail on Sunday! :D

NCTribeFan,

I don't know what the bottleneck was getting back on, but we didn't mind waiting for it to thin out. We've been to GT on several ships and with other ships there too and never seen lines like this. I've seen the lines stop when another ship has to tie off or leave, but we were alone. :confused:

There are normally long lines for tendering back to the ship at HMC, but we waited those out completely.

I'm trying to get r done before then....

Thats one of the things I've come to love about NCL, there Welcome Back Onboard Party as you come back to the ship as well as serving you cold drinks, hand towels, and cookies. Nice to know that when I make my return to CCL, there doing this now! Sometimes you need some cold fluids to cool down with while standing in line to board.

Thanks for sharing your vacation with us. I love the Pride so looking at all your photos brings back great memories!

I especially love all your Grand Turk photos. We'll be there in less than two weeks so it's nice to know what to expect.

Paul-

TY for another fantastic review. Quick question: Did you hear any noise from chairs/loungers scrapping above you from Serenity? We have an L-shaped extended (side) balcony on deck 8 on Splendor, which is right under the adult area on Lido. We never book under Lido, preferring cabins sandwiching us, but this is what they had left. We are light sleepers, and the deck set-up seems similar on Pride and Splendor in that area. Any problems?

Awesome review, as always, Paul.

I actually just went back and read your entire Breeze review. We are back on her in 63 days, and I just needed my fill:D:D

But, I did have a question for you.........

I am guessing Jaden didn't make it this time? I know you said he was planning to go with your family on your next cruise.....:confused:

I can demonstrate how very simple it is to lose money (quickly) on the slots! I just may try blackjack this time. I understand the basics but I'm always just a little worried that I'll screw up and everyone at the table will turn on me. :o

Hitting the road as soon as my bags are in the car and I stop to pick up my Rx and bottle of wine. By the time I check into the hotel in Baltimore this afternoon, I expect this review to be finished so I can relax in my room tonight and leisurely peruse the rest of it! :D

Solid review! Grand Turk looks amazing! What is the casino like??? Is it that ship?

daledoe,

Thank you.

The casino is inside the ship I assume; never have went in because it's never been open.

pe4all,

Thank you.

No noise from above at all. The only night they moved the Serenity furniture was on the 6th night and it was moved to keep it from blowing overboard. With the noise of the storm there was no chance we'd hear them moving furniture.

I was up early a few mornings and while walking around Serenity there appeared to have been a party right above our cabin with broken glass and overturned furniture; no noise from that either. It was around 0400 that I was there and when I passed by later around 0630 it was all clean and tidy.

We have had rooms on other ships under areas where the chairs are moved each night and the noise is minimal.

KPfromCT,

Thank you.

At the time I booked the second cabin Jaden was planning to play baseball and SB cruises and baseball don't mix well. Jaden broke his leg playing football early in the season and missed several games as well as missing the State football playoffs and had to miss the beginning of basketball season as well so I think he was feeling the need to play any sport. Jaden is NOT a baseball player and by the time basketball was over (they went to States in basketball too) he was ready for some time off.

We are planning B2B cruise next summer and Jaden said at the time that he would like to go then instead of SB. Spencer has been talking about baseball next year too since he'll be a senior......

NCTribeFan,

There are blackjack apps you can get for your phone that will teach you basic and even advanced strategy. Basically just don't concern yourself much with what other players feel about your play; if they are OCD you'll be able to tell if you are playing correct strategy. When I encounter a jerk I intentionally play to annoy them. It's been a few years since I encountered jerks at cruise casinos, but they do sail from time to time. Some players may feel that you drew their card or caused them to draw a card you should have drawn, but any comments should be made and taken as part of the game.

On Pride there was just one $10 table and the rest were $6 tables. Even the guy that was winning thousands per hand was playing at the $10 table. On most cruises we've been on the $6 tables are changed to $10 by the second night and the others are $25 tables. We played at all of the tables and won the most at the $10 table on the last night.

Forego the slots and give Blackjack a try; you may end up comped for your next cruise!
