I will be traveling with an 18 year old and need to where this passenger is not allowed on the ship? I will be traveling on the Carnival Conquest.

Can this traveler go in the casino, bars, night clubs? All answers are really appreciated.

THANKS FOR YOUR HELP - :)

That 18 - 21 age is a strange one... My DD loved the casino, and she was offered sodas on her free drinks for gamblings. She could go to the adults only comedy, even without me. She couldn't get on Serenity Area -- but didn't try -- since the sign said 21 and older.

She had loved the Camp Carnival Clubs while she grew up and asked if she could be there or help... but no!!

She's 25 now and still loves to cruise -- that was just awkward time for her...

Our son turned 18 in late October and we cruised early December. He brought his 17 year old friend on the cruise. We asked and he WAS allowed to attend the 02 club while on board. So depending upon when they turn 18 that *might* be a possibility. It always depends upon the staff on the ship though. Others have had the opposite result.

Being there is no serenity area on this ship, the only place they can't go are the kids clubs, the crew only areas, and the opposite sexes rest and locker rooms.

Aren't they allowed to gamble at 18 on the ships? I know my 19 year old was allowed to gamble on the Fascination in December. She couldn't drink but was allowed to play blackjack.

Yes, 18 year olds can gamble on all Carnival ships.

I thought "no kids clubs" was obviously since it says its only for certain age groups on the fun times, and near the club lol

As well as the obvious Crew Only areas and the Men or Women bathrooms lol.

Unless this 18 yr old in question can't read, I think they will know the restrictions when it comes to those things haha

Depending on numbers and the counselors, 18yo have been allowed into the kids clubs. Especially if they are in high school. Just have them bring their ID.

Hi everyone, thanks for all the answers to my post but I called Carnival today and when I asked them they said all 18 year olds are not allowed in the bar areas of yhe ship.

I am trying to find out if the 18 year old can go in the eb sports bar or any other bar with me as long as he does not drink.

Any idea?

I agree 100% that I think the years between 18 and 21 are the VERY worse ones.......it is so confusing...you are old enough to do a lot of things .... but then on other things you aren't considered an adult.....I have said this for YEARS ... I am just thankful when I was that age that 18 was the legal age to drink, vote, join the service without a parent's signature....etc........but that is my opinion and I know we all have one;)

I don't think the person you spoke to knows what their talking about.

The whole freakin' ship is a bar!

I know for a fact that minors are allowed in the piano bar, sports bar, etc.

Believe me...your 18 year old can go to the bar areas.

I've often found that the phone reps don't really have a clue as to how things are handled onboard the ship.

Yes, an 18 year old can go in any adult area, including the bars. They just can't order alcohol. And you can't order alcohol for them. They can only have non-alcoholic drinks.

Taking an 18-20 year old on the ship and keeping them entertained is difficult. They are too old be included in kids club and too young to enjoy the singles get together, as well as too young to enjoy the Serenity area - BUT they can gamble, which you need to keep an eye on because it most likely will be their first experience gambling with real money.

When my daughter was that age, she mostly hung out with us - went to the casino with a few bucks and the disco one night. Most of the time we spent it lounging in our room at night or going to Trivia.

Now my youngest is 17 and this will most likely be her last year in the kids club (really not a "kids" club but more of an opportunity to meet other kids their age).

Carnival should have a meet and greet for the 18-20 year olds. Really, they have nothing catered to that age.
