Just back from Pride yesterday!

y only concern is having enough activities, and it being a smaller ship. The itinerary looks amazing. What are you all's thoughts on a small ship vs some of the larger ones? Any comments?

We'll be back on the Pride July 27, our 3rd time on this ship. I love the size of the ship! It's very easy to navigate and never really feels crowded, although I've only been on her in Sept. and November. We'll see how it is in July. The entire crew was so friendly and always seemed happy, like they really enjoyed what they do.

Thanks, Bill, for your review. I love to read honest reviews, the good and the not-so-good. :)

DH and I sailed on the Pride, several years ago. I have been reading about all of the changes, as we are sailing again next month. DH was wondering if they had taken out the sushi area that is usually open for an hour or two in the evenings....he will be crushed if they did..Lol

just got back from 7 days on the 15th

no bacon police early but later in the morning they'd turn the tongs on you

we skipped the show shows, but did see the one guy singing, kind of uninspiring we picked two nights for comedy, saw two the first time and after the switch we got to see jim brick twice and some other guy, we just went to butterflies while the show upstairs was going on, and stayed there thru all three comedy shows

when I say 7 days on the pride I mean it! we never got off the ship, first time we have ever used serentity on any carnival ship, it was great

the first day, we thought like say on the fantasy or fascination the front hot tub would be adults only but NOOOOO! five seconds after the ropes dropped there were 12 kids in it playing like it was the pool, later about 20 kids with no parents!

so day two, to the end, we hit serenity every deay

we did actually get in the hot tub one time while in cape Canaveral at the regular pool, just before the bottom fell out! that was our revenge, all those dipsticks on their excursions, got dumped on big time, while we were chillin on the lido in the hot tub

rained pretty hard in Nassau in the afternoon too, they cancelled many excursions there too, but with a later arrival we had enjoyed the pool and hot tub at serenity while everyone else was getting ready to get off ship, the rain hit just about time the gangway opened so not only did most excursions cancel they missed the pool too! woo woo!

we are on the pride this dec too, does anyone know what refurbishments they are making to the ship?

:)

yea big disappointment

seems the sushi bars are all gone and turned into the international taste bar

on the pride, just outside the casino, near the entrance of the sports bar, we blundered by there just before closing one night after dinner and they had a Mexican stew thing that was good, but it aint sushi!

had big fun too watching the spurs beat the heat! and I even got home sunday night for the finale too:D

they have changed it to the taste bar

the last two cruises before this one, on the fantasy and fascination they did the same thing

converted the sushi area to an international taste bar, serving everything BUT sushi on those two cruises

so, maybe they served sushi on a night I didn't parade thru there but on the nights I did, it was Mexican stew, paninini or whatever, their ship maps still say there is a sushi bar there and I suspect they will until they run out of however many zillions of them they have printed, but even then they'd have to redo the artwork on the maps before reprinting, a minor change to day, but the fascination and fantasy maps weren't changed either

How many comedy shows did they have? I like going to those best and would rather miss a bigger show just to make it to the comedian! And did anyone go to the specialty restaurant? I have been on other ships but didn't know if it was worth the money on the Pride? Normally I like the MDR food anyway!

Granted it has been several years since we were on the Pride, David's was the highlight of our culinary experience. The service and food was incredible.

We were on the Pride in Oct 2013 and Apr 2014 and on both cruises there were 4 comedy shows. they were the first two nights and the last two nights, same conic both nights. Two comics each night, for three shows, the first one was family friendly. On our cruises shows were different day to day, but I talked to some that said some conics do the same or slightly different show. I wife and I had a great time at the shows.

our cruise on june 8th was the cape Canaveral, Nassau, Freeport cruise

we had two comedians at the start, one late show the first night, the next two nights we had 4 and 3 shows with the early having one or both in the same set

the only ship we saw the entire intenerary ( other than the bahammas celebration ) was the Fascination in Freeport

we swapped comedians with the F there and had 7 more shows the last two nights

so there were 15 dedicated comedy shows in butterflies, I think there might have been some appearances during the variety shows as well, or possibly one of the family friendly shows may have been in the show lounge

for us, Jim Brick who we had seen before was the funniest! :)
