Anyone know when /or if I should expect a letter from NCL prior to sailing from the pre cruise concierge.

They send letters only to North America.

You can contact them by email and request the letter in electronic format (include your ship, sail date and reservation number):

Based only on my personal experience, you may or may not receive a letter.

I received a letter for our October Sky cruise but not got the Sept Jewel cruise , I wouldn't hold your breath have your PCC or TA get you the telephone #.

If I find it today I will post here with it .

In a suite on Jewel, the only diff between you and the Haven is that you don't have access to the Haven.

Call your butler for room service. No service charge for suites and haven.

Butler takes care of you inside the cabin: room service, drink orders, delivering snacks, etc.

You'll board much earlier. You'll be escorted to your cabin, even if it's not ready, so you can drop off your bags. Then they'll take you to Cagney's (Moderno's on Jewel) for lunch.

The SF is a very nice cabin.

You can request drinks to be served in your cabin by requesting it through your butler?? I am amazed by this one!

True, however, you must pay for these drinks even if you have the UBP as that does not include cabin/room delivery service.

Just sailed the Pearl in Alaska this September. This was our first suite and in our opinion, the perks made it well worth the extra money. It will be difficult to sail in a regular cabin again...and we didn't even take advantage of all of them. Next cruise is January 2016 on the Jade in a 2bedroom family suite. Looking forward to making use off ALL the perks this time around. Live, sail and learn!

Welcome to CC. Did you happen to have the best butler on the Pearl, Maxi?

I was on the Breakaway (10-4 to 10-11) & feel I paid for suite perks I never received.

Maybe those that stay in the Haven area have better experiences. I never saw Virginia (the Concierge) unless I went to the haven lounge area. Never saw her around the ship or at any of the restaurants. I only asked her to make a reservation for us for Cagney's & she did, but I was surprised to never see her.

In the past on the Jewel, I saw Adrian everywhere & he always came by the restaurants to ask how we were.

Embarking was nothing special. They took about 25 of us through the ship & up to the haven restaurant, but never waited for everyone to get off the elevators. We were just left to find it on our own & some people left all together & went to their cabins.

Getting off the ship was worse. The line of passengers to get to customs was enormous. I finally asked someone & he said -'yes, Haven just stays to the right'. I pulled the people we saw on the elevator off the long line as we walked past them & they were grateful. The Haven sign was all the way down the end & couldn't be seen from the area where we got off the ship.

The Butler (Renato) had a favorite word. No. I either heard that or instead he just brought whatever he wanted. I actually only saw him in person the next to last day when he wanted to know if we were carrying our bags off the ship ourselves. Terrible experience.

The Haven restaurant is nice, but the food was just OK. The lounge area was a nice place to sit & have a drink, but most times screaming children ran through the room while their parents sat oblivious to the disruption.

I expected a better experience I guess for the premium -but didn't see it.

The staff throughout the ship was very nice. Always a smile & a hello.

I won't sail on the Breakaway again. I felt the venues were too small for the amount of passengers & the suite experience didn't compare to our Jewel cruise.

And before anyone asks, yes, I spoke to Virginia & the HD (can't remember his name) but on a 7 day cruise I didn't want to spend it complaining. Instead, if I wanted something I got it myself or asked our room Steward (who was an absolute doll).

Just not what I expected.

Wow- we sailed in the Haven on the Breakaway early August. Had a foward facing suite. Our experience was different then your experience. We were extremely impressed with the suite restaurant and the other specialty restaurants. Loved the Japanese hibatchi restaurant and Cagney's were very good.

We did find the public venues very crowded and if we weren't in the Haven, would never sail on that ship again. But honestly we were very impressed with the quality of service the Haven guest receive. We had priority everything! Dining, entering the shows, boarding and disembarkation.

Overall we prefer Celebrity and Royal- and typically do sail in a suite- (lower level) the cost of the Haven was excessive IMO. If the prices come down, we would consider the Haven on another NCL ship. The Haven on the Breakaway exceed our expectations.

We were on the Breakaway on Sep 20 in 16102 DOS. We enjoyed the Haven very much. However I did ask the butler if would could have some shrimp and cheese in the afternoon, and he said it was already planned. So basically NO.

We were treated very well, however I was not impressed with disembarkation..basically they took us down an elevator and turned us loose. We did make it to the car that was picking us up, but I felt like. Oh well, they are gone!

It was a good trip.

Considering that 24 hour room service is a benefit of a suite, that should not happen. If the daily "treat" is already planned, that's fine -- just bring the shrimp and cheese in addition.

I'm so hoping we get a good butler on our trip -- I'm not high maintenance, but who wants a butler that won't graciously do their job??

We were on the Dawn in a family suite two years ago and received an invitation for a bridge tour. I have no idea how we got on the list, but it was a nice surprise, and a great view!!

The Concierge desk number I use is 855-625-4283. Over the years I have not consistently received a letter, but I suspect it's because I book through a TA.

If your expecting to have shrimp and cheese you are going to be disappointed. Now if you wanted an order of chicken fingers from O'Sheehans your expectations should be met.
