We are in a 2 bedroom haven suite on the Jewel going to Alaska.

Do we get complimentary soda and water in the suite? We do have the unlimited drink plan.

Thank you for any input.

Only the GV, DOS and OS get the water and soda but you should get one complimentary liter of water.

No, as Leavethekidswithmom points out, on the Jewel, only H1, and H3 (on some Jewel Class ships, such as Jade, H2 as well, but as far as I know, there is no H2 on the Jewel yet) receive unlimited complimentary soda and bottled water in the suite. Yours will be an H4 - close, but not quite.

Yes, we get the lifeboat with the leather seats...

Just kiddin, your muster station will be listed on your key card. [emoji12]

Lol....we were on the Epic last month and the lifeboat drill was crowded to say the least. I think we should muster in the spa...ah

We are traveling in a Haven spa suite. Do you do the lifeboat drill with the rest of the ship, or is there a different/separate area for Haven guests?

Nope. You're smooshed in with everyone else. When we sailed in a spa suite, the muster was in the theater, but it took all of 5 minutes. No big deal.

To be completely serious, muster drill is a requirement by laws and regulations and unlike on Titanic, nowadays it doesn't matter at all how much you have paid - getting everybody evacuated safely in a timely manner is their top priority.

So, as others have said, your muster station is based purely on the cabin's location on the ship, nothing else. No exclusive safety protocols for Haven guests.

BUT, we discovered recently (on the Star) that if you are B2B you can skip the second voyage's muster drill.

That has been the case on both B2Bs we've done with NCL (2009 and 2011).

My H4 on the Gem in March came with three sparkling and three flat litres of water.

That is not a suite perk - six bottles sound a lot like water bottle package or left in the cabin by someone for some reason.

so, still kinda on suite perks/haven perks topic...

For people in the Haven, with the UBP, I know that if the butler brings drinks, there's a charge, but if you order through the courtyard valet, is that still a charge? Or is that part of the UBP?

All drinks we ordered through the Haven valet, especially during breakfasts and lunches in the courtyard, on all Jewel Class ships had been treated as part of the UBP. I don't know whether that's official policies, though.

It could be some special occasion, gift package or leftover from the previous guests. H4s, as a general rule, do not come with unlimited bottled water other than the 1 bottle on the day of embarkation. In January I left several large bottles of Pellegrino in my Haven Suite after a 21 day cruise, for instance.

Many times, in addition to the 3 or 6 bottles of liquor, we received 3 to 6 complimentary bottles of champagne when we stay in H3 and above (about 80-90% of the time). I know officially we only get 2 bottles (1 for haven suite and 1 for platinum), but sometimes we get several from the Hotel Director and other department heads. On rare occasions we even received a whole dozen from Senior Execs of NCL, but we know these aren't regular perks that come with the H3 or H1.

  • 4 weeks later...

Jumping in here...a lot of good info and some a bit still confusing to me.

I booked the Jewel for Alaska in a SF (Penthouse). I booked it for location and space, but seeing there are perks that go with this I want to be sure I take advantage of them.

I am getting confused...and some info is about a year old too....So I want to be sure I know where the Penthouse perks are verses Haven perks.

So we will have a special are to check in for suites, sit in a special area till called to board. Rooms may or may not be ready...typically they should be ready around 1:30 or 2, correct?

Room service....I see if we ask the butler we can get just about anything. What if we call room service directly? Will we be charged the new $7.95 fee as a suite guest? If so that is fine, I just want to prepare myself.

What all does the butler do? I really didn't even know he was part of the deal when I booked as I was booking a room for location on the ship more than anything.

We are going to probably be so busy that many of these perks that sound great may never be used, but I want to just keep my head straight on them so if we do decide to use them we know what they are.

I realize things can change. Is there somewhere to find a list for Penthouse suites like the one I saw for the Haven suites?

Thanks.

In a suite on Jewel, the only diff between you and the Haven is that you don't have access to the Haven.

Call your butler for room service. No service charge for suites and haven.

Butler takes care of you inside the cabin: room service, drink orders, delivering snacks, etc.

You'll board much earlier. You'll be escorted to your cabin, even if it's not ready, so you can drop off your bags. Then they'll take you to Cagney's (Moderno's on Jewel) for lunch.

The SF is a very nice cabin.
