On ship right now, need some advice about room steward.

I would find it very awkward to clean around people in the cabin. I would either hang on balcony or leave for 30 minutes. Ask how long he needs and go for a walk. They are on a schedule. Also I'd fix the couch myself.

Actually, it is a problem. They have to service all of their cabins twice a day.

Once, on turn around day on a back to back, I told my steward not to bother with my cabin until the evening because I know how busy he is on turn around day. He thanked me for being so considerate but said he has to clean the cabin every day.

I've seen other threads on this topic and I'm pretty sure the answer was pretty much, it's a problem.
