I agree. It was a great decision and the passengers get an extra night to enjoy Bermuda. Weather for the return trip looks great so even at top speeds they should make her arrival in Boston on time.

good for the" Dawn"! I have friends on-board~~just in time for the "Breakaway" and Summit" to come into Bermuda. I bet the "Dawn" will pass the "Breakaway" and "Summit" coming in and the "Dawn" going out!

Dawn is not going out .

She will go anchor and tender to Hamilton .

3 ship in Bermie tomorrow.

The other ships use to stay in Bermuda till day 6 at 1:00pm of every cruise and they were never late! I'm not surprised they stayed the extra night!!

Looks like the Dawn is pulling out of Bermuda now. So glad they got the extra time after arriving so late! Good for them.

On our way into Bermuda, we passed Dawn port side around 7am. Awesome sight. Will upload pics when we get home. Gorgeous day in Bermuda.

Thank you all for your great replies. I'm so happy that those aboard the Dawn got the extra time in Bermuda.

What time did she arrive on Sunday? We were on vacation, and away from the computer.

She docked at about 7:30 p,m (Bermuda time) on Sunday after delays associated with Hurricane Arthur. The extra night in Bermuda was a great move by the Captain in particular, and NCL in gerneral:)

Spending the night is crap !! She should have stayed all day today too . We did last time Dawn had a storm delay .

The dawn could of stayed the night if there was more dock space. Bermuda only has two piers for these big ships. The Dawn might be too big to dock in Hamilton and will have to tender if she was to move over there.Tendering can cause additional problems

Last time Dawn stayed over Tuesday night MaMa Tek and her crew set up cold water and ice towel and music on Front st. for the tender crowd.

Mama Tek should get credit for starting the first dock party .

NCL has done very well with Her Idea started by tendering to Hamilton on a Wednesday afternoon . :D

Well the Dawn "lost" about 3 hours on it's late arrival...and they gained 12 hours by staying overnight...how is that crap ?

Instead of having an all aboard of 5pm they could enjoy a night out in Bermuda.

She could NOT stay the day because of the Breakaway and the Summit...no place for 3 ships there...and why would they stay one more day ? it's a 3 day trip to Bermuda...not 4.

I think they took a good decision. But that's just me...

It was 2 only days . Dawn was not in Bermuda Sunday day .

3 ship Dawn , X & Star have done it . If Bermuda had not allowed the casino to open she would have sailed last night . She stayed cuz less time at sea saves fuel $

Thats life I guess...........Last September on the BA we were suppose to arrive at 8:00am on Wednesday. Because of a storm we were 11 hours late, missed the whole day and everything was closed when we pulled in. We left at the normal time on Friday

But they did miss only 3 hours on Sunday.

Getting in at 4pm on Sunday vs getting in at 7pm like she did...that's what you call loosing a day ?

Being at sea the casino would have been open anyways, the bars would have been full of people who instead went to Frog and Onion, Bone Fish grill and bar or the new pirate theme bar..that's a loss of revenue for the ship. Same goes for the specialty restaurants...

Staying at the Wharf overnight costs $$ for the ship. They have to pay the taxes per passengers per night spent there and the utilities they use at the wharf...

Pushing the engine just by 10 or 15% to make up for the time results in a significant increase in fuel consumption...and cost.

They didn't have to do it, and I bet that when they announced it over the PA system everybody applauded and cheered....well maybe except for a few who really wanted to get the hell out of Bermuda and be at sea

But still think it was a good decision to stay overnight.
