How big of price drop have you ever got?

I don't remember the individual amounts but last year our Alaska cruise we had right at $800 dollars OBC each for two balcony staterooms and $300 on an interior. $1900 dollars for the family to enjoy. We had paid in full in December of 2012 for a July 2013 sailing. There was a great deal of bad press in the cruise industry after the Concordia tragedy and the Triumph fire. Prices dropped like crazy.

A friend of mine is sailing in a few weeks. He booked one balcony cabin for 2 adults and 2 kids about 4 months ago. He currently has about $1900 OBC due to price drops. Either he severely overpaid originally or something changed a lot.

We had at total of $1200 in price drops on our Breeze Med cruise.....from $1750 p/p to $1150 p/p - $600 each!! That was gigantic and not expected....some of it was prior to final payment, some came as OBC....but it was all wonderful!!

Besides price drops before final payment, we each received $800 in OBC for a total of $1600 and we had to move from an aft cabin to a suite to get it. This was on the Carnival Magic from Barcelona in May, 2011. We also had our 25% each OBC from that being our Milestone cruise. We had a boat load of OBC on that cruise. We also had shareholder credit and credit from a future cruise certificate.

We as a family just got a 700 dollar price drop today on the breeze for this winter cruise.

I received a $300 price drop on a cruise I was doing solo. The ship had a large group of drag queens and their fans join the passenger list shortly before the cruise . Because of this a large number of homophobic people cancelled their cruise, so the prices dropped drastically right before Cruise date. The drag queen group were very nice, had their own shows and caused no trouble so It was really stupid for people to cancel their cruise but hey it got me $300 OBC!

Yesterday Carnival dropped the price of both legs of my October B2B cruises TWICE  (once in the morning and once in the evening) by introducing two new promotions. . . Well not new but new for the moment. As a result, the price of my 8 day cruise dropped $125 and the price for my 6 day cruise dropped $190 for a total savings of $315 in one day.;) Since I had not made full or final payment, the total amount due on final payment was reduced by $315.:D One of the cruises' final payment date is this coming Monday. Hence, I am checking several times a day to see if anything changes. The other cruise final payment is the following Monday.

One cruise is coded "Early Saver" so any further price drop will result in OBC. The other cruise is coded "Casino Rate", whatever that means. After final payment (this Monday), no further adjustment will be allowed. However, if the price drop is severe enough, I may be able to swing a cove balcony out of the deal if any are available (which, as of my tying this, there are several still empty.).

The price of my combined cruises dropped 25% in one day. . . . Will keep my eye on the prices from here till cruise date.

On July 7th, I noticed the single supplement was waived for the cove balconies on the Breeze for the Dec. 6, 2014 cruise! I called and switched from my 8B balcony to a 7C Cove balcony. My cruise went down $1,100! New total $915! (includes tax & tips)!

That is awesome, congrats! I think the most we've gotten was about $350 on a balcony cabin. We were happy.

Back in 2012 my partner and I were on the Dream.

We booked and paid in full 7 months out.

During that 7 months our price dropped 6 times for a total of $680. (2 guests)

$680 was a great OBC and we indulged in many Drinks of The Day! ;)
