Just received a call from the update fairy this afternoon for our cruise in 11 days! We were upgraded from an OV to a Balcony for $190!

Upsell fairy, sorry... I've never been offered either so I was excited!

 

I did the fake booking and it's definitely cheaper. Compared to what they are charging now for what we paid, we saved $289. I called last week to see about an upgrade and Carnival was asking for $400! We said definitely not!

 

I'm glad we waited.

Does the Upsell fairy visit often??

I'm sailing 29 November in OV, but I know there are still balconies available.

 

Do they start with VFIP and work their way through or anything?

I've always read that they will call closer to your sailing date. Your chances are better if you book directly with Carnival too.

It depends when she calls, I was offered the upgrade from Balcony to Suite at about 45 days out.

Did my own upgrade for my cuise coming up. For 108 bucks I upgraded from a 4j to 8c balcony. Not too bad. I wanted to try the 4j but for 100 bucks I couldn't pass it up!

Aeesome! I love reading about up sells n upgrades. I've never had the fairy call me but I would love to be offered balcony for my upcoming cruise. But I doubt it as the Fantasy doesn't have many balconies lol. But congrats to you! :D

The upgrade or upswell fairy has never called me, and I usually up sell myself or take advantage of new promos or price drops.
