AdamKnows Posted October 21, 2014 #1 Share Posted October 21, 2014 I've been on 13 cruise without motion sickness. I've been on ships from the Empress of the Seas to Freedom class ships. Every time I go deep sea fishing in Oregon I get very sick so I do know that I am somewhat prone to motion sickness. Do you think I need to worry about motion sickness in my Crown Loft suite? julesbeara Posted October 21, 2014 #2 Share Posted October 21, 2014 Very little motion on the Oasis class ships. Sailed twice in Crown Loft Suites and had zero or very little motion. Green apples are a good natural remedy to motion sickness.
Coralc Posted October 21, 2014 #3 Share Posted October 21, 2014 LOL! You just want to brag about your CL suite, don't you? :D:D Small deep sea fishing boats have a tendency to encourage motion sickness. Especially off the coast of Oregon and Washington. I'm sure you will probably be fine. :D;):)
mechcc Posted October 21, 2014 #4 Share Posted October 21, 2014 Take ginger ale, ginger snaps, & ginger candies to counteract your seasickness. DDIL says they work in ocean views so if they don't work in CLs you can go to guest services & get stronger meds.
Llmtax2000 Posted October 21, 2014 #5 Share Posted October 21, 2014 I get woozy playing "ring around the rosy" and I never felt even the slightest out of sorts in our crown loft in August. I was worried, too, but I'm glad to report all was well. Sent from my iPad using Forums

ATC cruiser Posted October 21, 2014 #7 Share Posted October 21, 2014 On the unlikely chance you do get sick, make sure you throw up in private, otherwise some paranoid passenger might think you have Ebola :-) Aft Cabins Rule
cruisegirl1 Posted October 21, 2014 #8 Share Posted October 21, 2014 (edited) If you are truly concerned, a mid ship cabin, on a low deck is the best choice. M Edited October 21, 2014 by cruisegirl1
DCT61 Posted October 21, 2014 #9 Share Posted October 21, 2014 NO movement at all. We were in an aft facing center suite, and it was the smoothest cruise we've ever been on.
holden0301 Posted October 21, 2014 #10 Share Posted October 21, 2014 (edited) We sailed in an aft balcony on Freedom in December. The seas were unusually rough! I didn't get sick, but I definately felt the motion when I was in bed at night. DD11 was very seasick. Our cabin attendant kept the green apples coming! Because of this experience I'm hesitant to book an aft cabin again. The crown loft cabins are so tempting - two bathrooms!!! I'm just not sure if we want to have that experience again. cruzkitty Posted October 21, 2014 #11 Share Posted October 21, 2014 We sailed in a Crown Loft last Sept and loved it! They are just the best! I rarely felt any movement throughout the Ship, and never in the Suite! You will love the C/L!

grand isle joe Posted October 21, 2014 #13 Share Posted October 21, 2014 Cruise Tip # 54...when you are in the Suite it is best to drink very heavily so when you lay down and the bed starts to spin you can't tell if it is motion sickness or the drink.;)

Wheeling_family_of_3 Posted October 22, 2014 #15 Share Posted October 22, 2014 Bring ginger Altoids, peppermint Altoids, and over the counter Bonine and Dramanine. Use the Draminine only at night as it knocks you right out. Use the Altoids for minor motion sickness. I get motion sick at the very slightest moving, even in even seas, so I take Bonine every single day, starting the day before I set foot on the boat and 2 days after I disembark. Rare A&L_Ont Posted October 22, 2014 #17 Share Posted October 22, 2014 We sailed through the tail end of Hurricane Sandy on Deck 17 with 30 foot swells. You could feel the motion, but we didn't feel sick. It really depends on the individual. You are best to follow the recommendations of others and bring medicines, or follow Island Joe's. Either way you should be set.:D

AdamKnows Posted October 23, 2014 Author #19 Share Posted October 23, 2014 No bathtub in CLplse say it isn't so I don't need a bathtub in my suite. I would rather have a shower built for 3. Sent from my SM-N900V using Forums mobile app
