Lanyard/Sign Sail Card-will they punch a hole in it?

Not really. The ones from the casino let you hook one end to your belt loop, then put your card into a slot machine. That way you don't forget it. When you get up and walk away, it snaps back at you if you have forgotten to take it out of the machine. With the second ones, you would have to take it off of your neck to play any slots. Then it would be hanging down on the machine and getting in the way.

We always use the ones from the casino if we are in the casino. When we leave, we just take the card off the lanyard and pocket the S&S cards.

Unless you don't have belt loops which is one more reason why I don't use those kind. I like to wear "comfortable" clothes on my cruise so that I may indulge in all the yummy food ;)

They also have lanyards that have a clip at the end where your card is so you can unclip it and detach your card real fast and easy. Just don't forget to take your card out of the machine. I like my lanyard hanging down from my card so I don't forget. It's a reminder in case I get distracted (which isn't hard for me to do).

There is no right or wrong answer. Everyone has their preferences.

Years ago I got a lanyard from Carnival free for some reason. Started using them all the time when my son, 11 y/o at the time, lost his card in the auditorium 3 times in one day! It fell onto the seat out of his pocket. Once he had the lanyard the problem was solved.

Iv'e been taking my own punch and it's on it's lanyard just after I get it. Yes, I punched it on the wrong end once, never again!

When I go into the cabin I hang it on the door handle. The punches used by crew make very small holes and they have to make multiple punches to get it onto the lanyard.

Here is the kind I was talking about previously. It allows you to unhook your card without taking the lanyard off your neck. Just be sure not to leave your card laying around!

My boys really liked this feature as it was easier when they would order a soda or to open the cabin door. They were too young to be in the casino so didn't have to worry about them leaving it there ;)

I love ETSY and this lanyard. I posted a picture. The sellers name is ChathamsCrossing. I leave in 2 days for my cruise. I'll let you know how it holds up when I get home.

Pretty! My mom had a whole bunch of different lanyards on this past cruise and changed them up like everyday. She had some sparkly ones for elegant night too! I'm more plain and simple, but I do like that one in your pic!

In the gift shop on the ship they have really pretty glittery rhinestone ones for women. They were $10. After the cruise I found the same thing (in many colors) at Meijer and Walmart. I use it at home for my casino players cards. I think they were about $5 at Meijer and Walmart.

Just curious if they still do this on Carnival ships? I have a small hole punch to bring, if needed, but if I didn't have to, that would be nice too!

No need to bring a hole punch. At some ports, the cards already have a hole punched. If your card doesn't have a hole, either go to Guest Services upon boarding or wait for the casino open to get your card punched and get a free lanyard.

On the Vista all cards were pre-punched. Even the stock that guest services has were.
