I remember reading that they do provide a function, but I don't remember for sure what. Maybe: just a guess: air for a gas turbine engine?

They are not "decorative", I am pretty sure. Diamond Princess as well as Sapphare Princess also have them as does Coral's sister.

They are decorative. See here: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showpost.php?p=36055758&postcount=4

I was told the same thing as this poster.

I stand corrected! As I said, I thought I had read differently.

What would be the purpose of a marine architect putting these things on the ship? They would add weight to the ship, provide wind resistance, decrease fuel economy. At least, I would think so.

One of the crew I asked said something about a storage area for various sports equipment. Who knows? One of the posters in that thread I referenced mentions that it was a design touches to indicate the ships used gas turbine engines for power generation. I would imagine that you are right about the weight and profile issues though. I know some of the "shopping cart" class ships have had the skywalkers lounge in the back removed and that they may also have removed the nacelles from them during refits.

Well, most things in life are more important than a sail-away. Like having a nourishing dinner.

This is almost a rerun of last year's Prisendam visit.

Just say no and walk away from the computer.:)

I have several times Chief and everytime I come back she is still there.:eek:
