Noordam.

this is the answer I received to my inquiry:

"The group for the August 1 trip (Norway, Iceland) will be around 75 people.

The group for the October 25 Australia trip will be about 40 people."

Hope this helps,

Carol

Not sure if this is 100% as I received the information from a reservations agent but it looks like the Eurodam is going into dry dock for an indeterminate amount of time somewhere between December 10th 2015 when it returns to Fort Lauderdale from its one and only 2015 11 day Southern Carribean itinerary and December 20th 2015 when it resumes its alternate 7 day Eastern and 7 day Western Carribean. Not sure exactly what is being done; the reservations agent had no idea.

You may find this website helpful, if you don't already know about it: http://www.roadscholar.org/programs/adventures_afloat.asp. Road Scholar is part of Elderhostel.

I was checking out my upcoming cruise (Maasdam May 1 -16/15) and found that Road Scholar will have a group onboard. It doesn't appear to adversely impact those of us who are not part of the group, other than possibly dining times and some onboard (daytime) lectures.

I did a further search, for all HAL cruises: http://www.roadscholar.org/programs/search_res.asp?cl=Holland%20America%20Line&sts=10&sts=2&localscroll=2&sts=99&pagesize=10&localscroll=1&page=1&qsort=99

There are too many to list here because, for some of the itineraries, they have booked multiple dates. I checked one other itinerary for Alaska and they seem to have a meeting space for evening sessions. I don't know if that's in a meeting room or a public room, nor do I know how large the group is.

I'll leave it up to you to decide whether or not these should be listed on your listing.

Thanks! I definitely will add these groups into the listing, and much appreciate the link and info....

New update will be posted shortly after the new year, as I have quite a bit of additional information (yes, more groups:eek:) besides looking into adding the road scholar groups.

I know of another group that will be on the Maasdam 5/23/15 sailing. Chumley Bear Cruises will be sailing from Boston to Montreal. They typically sail with Princess in the fall and can be a few hundred in number. This is their first sailing with HAL so have no idea of how large this group will be.

Good luck with your review of the Road Scholar info! I counted at least 35 cruises and that's only the HAL cruises!

Thank you very much for spending the time to keep this listing up to date. It's a lot of work and you should know that it is appreciated.

thanks for the heads up, better put on a pot of coffee and roll up my sleeves, :D

The Northwest Seminars and medical/anaesthesia groups used to number that many also - in recent years they seem to have cut down, used other cruise lines (solstice class Celebrity ships come to mind) and a LOT of land-based seminars.
