Friends booked Breakaway just 3-4 weeks out and the TA got them BD guarantee. . . BD cabin was assigned several hours later and it was very far forward on deck 9.

Our limited experience with guarantee category is ending up very far forward on various ships.

Going on 10 cruises - booked guarantee 6 times, never disappointed!

Upcoming 3 day cruise - booked cheapest inside cabin - got 8342 - guess we'll see how it is!

Booked Ocean view Guarantee on Breakaway - got 5728 - Loved it

Booked Balcony Guarantee on Dawn - got mini suite 11578 - Loved it

Booked inside Guarantee on Jewel - got a teenie tiny inside cabin - learned to love it

Booked balcony guarantee on RCL Explorer - can't remember but loved it

Booked inside guarantee on RCL Voyager - got inside 9365 - first cruise and we fell in love with cruising so you could say we were very happy with it!

I will never hesitate to book a guarantee cabin if the price is right!!

Booked an MX mini suite gty on the Getaway in October. Will the cabin assignment show up in the Vacation Summary section online, or only in the edocs?

You will see it on you Vacation Summary section, next to the MX, as soon as it is assigned.

I've done a GTY cabin 3 times and all times got a better cabin. Very first cruise, reserverd inside GTY, got a higher floor partially obstructed view. Another time booked inside GTY and got a porthole window. On the breakaway, booked an inside GTY, got a family ocean view picture window.

How close to sailing do the rooms get assigned typically? Is there rhyme or reason? We booked inside guarantee at about 36 days out. No assignment a week later. Another couple on our cruise also booked an inside guarantee around the same time we did and they were assigned immediately. How close before I should worry? First NCL cruise. So much new to us!

We booked a BX guarantee on Getaway approximately 30 days prior to sailing. We were assigned 12886 (Handicapped Balcony) about 2 weeks prior to sailing. The downside was that the door automatically slowly opened entirely exposing the whole cabin; so if anyone was in the hallway they could see entire cabin. Also the shower had no lip to contain water, easily solved by rolling two towels surrounding the drain and limited shelf space. The Upside far outweighed the downside: the cabin was 470 square feet with a 70 square foot balcony that held a lounge chair. Lil' slice of heaven.

Never worry! There is no rhyme nor reason. You will have a cabin. The suspense is terrible, but no reason to worry. I have heard of people getting assigned at the dock, but that seems pretty rare. Just keep checking every day!

Thank you!

I think DH & I would likely have our heads implode if we waited until we were at the dock! LOL! J/K. We've only booked GTY rates with Disney a couple times. With them it seems when the room assigners go thru the ship they assign all the guarantee rooms at once. Others on our NCL sailing got assigned right away. We're still waiting over a week later. Yikes!

I feel like my obsessive checking is a crazy compulsion....... :p

Booked a GTY mini suite (MX) on the Getaway and was just assigned to Mini Suite cabin 11834. Does anyone have info about this cabin? Specifically, we are traveling with 2 kids and would prefer the drop down bunk over the sofa (instead of the pull out sofa). Should I have any other concerns about this cabin's location? TIA!

Have a group going and we have a total of five GTY Balconies for the December 5th sailing of the Escape. We were all assigned B3 categories on Monday, August 24th. Four of them are within 12 cabins of each other in the 9100s and the other is a deck below in the 8100s.

Added info: The four cabins that were in the 9100s were all booked on the same day with the same PCC. The cabin that was in the 8100s was booked through the same PCC, but was booked about a week later.

What I have found is that the mini's that have the "+" sign in them on the deck plans sleep four. The only way that can happen is with the drop down bunk. The other mini's have a solid triangle in them on the deck plans and these only sleep three. No drop bunk. Please know this was done by process of elimination and may not be completely accurate. All the pictures I've seen though (and none were of your specific cabin but others around it) seem to work out to this configuration.

Booked an OX on Spirit. We are 106 days out and was assigned today, OC cabin 6522, OV picture window. Under the very front of the casino. Happy with the window but hoping the slot sounds won't be audible.

I spent more than a decade in a casino on the other side of the tables and the thought of the dinging slots 24/7 is the stuff of my nightmares.

Paid a little bit to upgrade from an OB oceanview to GTY BX balcony just 6 days before sailing. Ended up with a BC all the way forward. Hull balcony but not all that concerned. Should be quiet and good exercise getting there. Will be glad to have a balcony on our Baltic cruise on the Star.
