We had a night out with Celebrity and Brent Nixon last night. He is the naturalist that will be speaking on our Celebrity Solstice Alaska Cruises.

D Magazine, (Dallas) a local magazine is sponsoring an Alaskan Cruise with a couple of local chefs in August. There was Alaskan Beer and an assortment of wines, and very nice snacks, including very large shrimp cocktail :D. Brent spoke for about an hour, which was very good. They then had a drawing for a couple of door prizes.

Afterward I talked to Brent shortly about our May cruise. He said May was a excellent time to go and the weather then is usually great.

We are on the Solstice May 15 cruise.

I have heard so many great things about Brent Nixon and was hoping he'd be on the Solstice again this year. We don't sail until September...do you remember if he mentioned if he'd be on the Solstice for the entire 2015 season?

Does Solstice have a Molecular Bar? Not clear from deck plan layouts.

I have read that the Molecular Bar is going away (on all ships) as X has decided not to renew the contract with the subcontractor who ran it.

I, for one, will be sorry to see it go as they did some real nifty things with drinks, but X is promising something comparable.. Just need to wait and see.

Spectacular. If you don't do anything else then take the train in Skagway....Welcome to Celebrity.

Thank you! We have taken that train in Skagway and it was stunning. :)

Karen,

After moving over from RCI as well, I found it very strange that there was not a wisp of smoke in the casino as X limits smoking to a few, outdoor, areas.

What a GREAT feeling !!!

Steve - cannot wait. Literally, so excited about the restricted smoking policy. Yes RCI banned smoking on balconies but on our repo last year, our neighbors directly below us and others some cabins down chose to ignore that. It was very uncomfortable for us as we know the ban is supposed to be in place. *sigh* Anyway... I do look forward to the smoke-free indoor areas of Solstice.

Yes, Molecular Bar is on deck 5.....it probably says "Galleria" on the deck plans......as for it being done away with? I haven't seen any type of press release about it...I was on Reflection back in November and it

was plenty busy on that cruise and if they do get rid of it? I will be

sorry too:(.....I love that bar:D
