White space on Deck plan

Does anyone know on the Crown Princess what the white space on the deck Plan for Deck 9 Dolphin is at the front of the ship. We are booked above the white space on Deck 10 and was wondering if it will be noisy? Is the kitchen, laundry, etc there?

I thought I saw somewhere on here that it's crew lounge/gym, etc. They said they could hear noise at night from the stairwell next to their most forward room on C deck. Can't remember exactly what ship they were talking about, but at that time I was looking at booking the Crown & the Golden.

That would be on Emerald deck forward. (upper Promenade deck)

Crew bar/internet cafe on one side, small crew gym on the other.

Are you in an inside on Caribe deck?

If so check to make sure that you are not over the stage of the theater on Deck 7. The area over the stage in Deck 8 and 9 is open space right above the stage to hold lighting and for raising and lowering screens/scenery etc. The rooms in this area appear to be C203-C217. C211 and C212 are right over the top.

In that area, yes it will be noisy whenever music is playing in the theater.

Some of the white space is also used for air handlers and other ships systems (electrical rooms for example). Those should not be a noise issue.

If you are not in the area I mentioned previously, right above the stage, it should not be a problem.

I believe that the OP is referring to an inside, as this is really the only difference I see between deck 9 and 10. The crew bar/gym/cabins are all forward of the guest cabins. I think being on 10, you wouldn't hear anything from the stage area, probably only in the forward insides on 8. Given the two deck height of that interior space, and the lack of any comparable space in the forward part of the ship, I would say this is the A/C air handler room. Noise should not be an issue.

We were escorted through that area one time on a ship tour on the Crown, and it was pointed out that this area contained crew/entertainer cabins. If you look at a photograph of the outside of the ship, you can see that there are cabin windows all along that area on Dolphin, Caribe and Baja Decks. Hope that helps put your mind at ease.

If you look at the stage there is a very high gap above it that is used to raise scenery and for lighting. I ran into this problem on the Royal. After doing so and getting shown the area by a ships officer (after extensive discussion with customer service). He indicated that there was the same issue on the other Princess ships as well. Now it is not all of the white space, but the gap does exist right over the stage in the area of C211 (if you check the floor plans C211 on the Royal is in the same place in relation to the stage as C211 is on the Crown). On the Royal for example, when the band was playing the volume in C211 was louder then the cabin TV. Basically if you could cut a hole in the floor from that cabin you would see the stage 4 decks below.

Some friends on mine indicated that they experienced the same issue on the Grand.

The area is pretty large so it depends upon what room he is talking about. Outside of the C203-217 I would not expect much impact.

You can get a better answer instead of best guesses if you can post the cabin number that you have booked.
