yes, I just read it ...interesting .... let's see when they post explanation about each tier.

Just wondering how many points does someone need to be in particular tier.

Can you tell which thread i can find this- i went to the Royal link but could not find it. Thanks

Not on Royal's site, but on the "unofficial" Royal Caribbean Blog. Still no point qualifiers and especially the math used to

tell table players how they earn points.....

We will see

I called Club Royale yesterday afternoon to ask about this and to no one's great surprise, the rep knew nothing about it. He kept telling me that this was the "old" program at which point I insisted that he go and find a supervisor. After a few minutes he came back with good news and bad news. The good news is that yes, as of March 2018 they will finally define the tiers that have been in the works for so many years now. The bad news was that this brochure was not supposed to be released until today.

So....presumably, the reps will be briefed on the new program some time in the near future (we'll see....) and hopefully we will be able to get additional information in the upcoming weeks.

Maybe I am alone here but it looks like the new benefits are going to be ok. At the very least, it will be defined and we should know where we stand - something that hasn't been true for a long, long time. The important part, of course, will be how they determine the levels and what it will take to qualify. Will the points be cumulative ? Doubtful, but nobody knows at this point.

I too think the new system could be ok. there is a chance that it is the old system (which I finally figured out last cruise) stays and the tier system brings back some perks.

As for the cumulative status of the points, I think that it almost has to be cumulative (at least on a yearly basis) or else how can they preload the benefits?

Just spoke to Ron at Casino Royale. Very helpful.

Here is what he told me on the roll out.

The system as is today will remain the same as for on board certificates. That is lines 1 and 2 of the flyer.

You will be placed into tiers based off of your previous play and for the first year they will do a look back from 7/1/2016 through 12/31/2017. After the first year you will be rated on a one year roll through 3/31. They will use a full 12 month look. The nice thing is that he says that once you reach a level you will not go below it. Points will be earned just as they are for the certs and here is how the tiers work.

Select 0-2,499

Prime 2,500-24,999

Signature 25,000-99,999

Masters 100,000 -

So once you reach Signature for one year you don't go below that level but every year the points go back down to 0 and you need to get to 100K to get to masters in that on year period from 4/1 - 3/31

Hope that this helps.

That is a whole lot of chasing. I see the vast majority being in that second tier. Getting to 2500 isn't that hard on a 7 night cruise and then you are in that level.

I am just glad that it seems like they are adding benefits without removing what they have now.

Called I spoke with CR today ---they cannot tell me my total points for 07/01/16 - 12/31/17 ...I been on 3 cruises during this time -- 12 nights / 12 nights/ 14 nights. CR told me only my last play almost 30K points. Very interesting if I will be signature on master...it will be very sad if signature with 90K ;p They adding all points for whole period of 07/01/16 - 12/31/17 and tier will be based on the total.

Also I asked if for exp signature between 25K and 99K and dilemma free balcony VS free grand suite .... if they will be consider with 90K points give me JS - answer: no only balcony but not sure bec more details coming in march and you will get email

My next cruise beginning of April and CR said all benefits will be applicable for my April cruise

Another question I asked about 2nd cabin bec we always travel with kids / parents ... if you remember in our old program we had this benefit up to 30% off ... no answer yet but CR said also % depends of you tier --- at least something nice coming back ..... Bec program that was last 2 years sooooo shiiiiittttttyyyy :(

Lets start it this way to make it simpler. You are a first time cruiser on RCI. You do a few cruises between 4/1/2018 and 3/31/2019. You rack up. 28,000 points in that time frame. You will be classified as signature. You will never drop below that even if between 4/1/2019 and 3/31/2020 you only go on one short cruise and amass 5,000 points. You will still be signature.

Each year the point reset. So lets say you do lots of cruising between 4/1/2021 and 3/31/2022. You amass over 100,000 points during that 12 month span. You will now be Masters and will never drop below that.

That being said this is so fluid that anything can change and I might have egg on my face!!! :o

I see this as good. Maybe the program still isn't great and we would love to have specialty restaurants and spa treatments comped but it is better then we have at the moment and maybe they will add some of that in.

I was messaging with a dealer that I became friendly with and they said its about time. They have been talking about something like this for the last couple of years.

I think they will still give us specialty restaurants/ spa treatments ....its not a big deal

My question was whether, during that 12 (or in the case of the first instance, 17 months) months "look back", the points are cumulative or averaged. I think you (Goofy) answered that they are cumulative. That is a GREAT thing. The more you cruise, the better off you are.

I'm skeptical about the whole "you will never drop back down to a lower tier level" part. My guess is there is some reboot period of time after which you would reset your status to some lower (or maybe, inactive) status. I hope I'm wrong, but I'll bet they won't just let you stay at a high level just b/c you reached it once. That's how Royal got into so much trouble with the whole C&A status thing.

At any rate, this is all good news so far. I HATE this whole "you're only as good as your last cruise" thing. I'll be glad when it goes away.

Iasked --- got answer ....every year you need to start over ...exactly same as land casinos

What happens to the points earned between 12/31/17 and 3/31/18? maybe some one posted the answer and I didn't see it. I have 2 cruises booked during that period. Thanks.

Sorry but what I am being told it won't count towards the look back. Maybe you can call the casino royale number and see if they can do something for you.

Sounds like this new system might be good for me since it seems it might benefit people who cruise often but are not heavy gamblers. During the “look back” period I sailed 13 times. I usually get a certificate of some type. I would guess I have averaged between 400 and 800 points per voyage. So I think this means I would reach the level for always having the free drinks and no fee for cash. That, in addition to a free annual cruise and certificates is more than this lowly blackjack player could hope for. Does that sound right? Katherine

Those points probably count toward the March 2019 look back.

I’m on a sailing that departs 12/31/17. I wonder if that play will count for the current placements. ??

From what I have been told in my discussions those points from 1/1-3/31 in 2017 won’t count. They need to get the system running.

In the future the 12 month period will include 4/1 throug 3/31 the next year.

My sister just called the casino department and has been told that nothing is finalized. The levels that people have posted may not be what eventually happens. The rep indicated that the January 1 to March 31, 2018, time period will be counted towards points total. The rep also said, “You know us. All of this can change so don’t count on anything you have heard”. She also said that point totals are blocked so they cannot give out any information. So there you have it — the latest, at least according to one rep! Katherine

Has anyone received price drops when they've booked through the casino club reps? On one of our cruises the cabins are reduced and many have phoned their TA's for refunds or upgrades. Does amyone know if Can you get them with the casino bookings or not?? We were told not but that was 3 years ago and didn't know if we were told correct or not.
