Love your review, thanks so much! We are off in 22 days on the Paradise and can not wait! And ha ha to the potty pic (I am guessing thats what is was) I wont show my 11 year old, he loves using nature as his toilet!! He'd love to go back to school after the cruise and say he peed on a Mexican tree.

Very detailed review! Thank you for sharing your trip memories with us!

We are thinking of doing this cruise next month, and I had a few questions:

I have noticed it didn't seem there were any "Broadway style" shows or musicals listed in the Funtimes in the evenings...was this the case? It looks like it has all been replaced with guest games and comedy shows.

Also, I noticed a lack of scavenger hunts and daytime guest games. :( we usually go to late dining, so we would miss all the games if we did, right?

I know it is corny, but my husband and I love doing those types of activities. We don't drink or gamble, so we really look forward to the shows, scavenger hunts, etc...

I'm sure we will have a blast regardless...after all, we wil be off work and spending time together and with our son. It just looks like a lot has changed since our last cruise in 2013.

Mybearsbaby: I thought your name sounded familiar, and yes, you were on a cruise with us before! It looks like February of 2011 we were on the same cruise. However, I don't remember if we met or not?

We saw a couple of really good shows at night. The one where the Cruise Director, Steve Cassel, played the fiddle...was really good. There was also another one that we really enjoyed. I realized I never finished this review...left off the last day! I will have to finish it soon!

I didn't notice the daytime activities, because we were usually out on deck on the sea days, and we went to port on the port days. Did you read the fun times? I don't remember of any scavenger hunt, but it could have been and I easily could have missed it.

Yes, I am certain that you will have a fun time, no matter what you do. Total relaxation if nothing else. Enjoy!

I thought your name looked familiar too. ;) I don't think we ever met in person, but I think we were on the same roll call. Thanks for the reply. I did read the fun times you posted, but I could have overlooked it. :) I am so looking forward to getting out of town and on a ship. :D :D The beach is calling!

Great review! While I haven't been on the Paradise I have been on the Fascination and I don't remember the casino being on deck 9. BTW- the toiletry bag is one of my favorite gifts ever. It hold so much. Thanks for the review..

could I see the fun times?

No dive in movies. No TV on the Lido deck. And, we found ourselves busy all the time. Like I said though, we tried some new things this cruise that we had not before. We like the serenity deck and were there most late mornings/early afternoons. We like the comedy club, etc.

I did save the Fun Times and if anyone would like to see them or a certain day, I can scan them.

It looks as though she has posted all of then except the last sea day.

Correct, I posted all of the Fun Times except for the last day. And I think I have misplaced those since. I'm sorry that I was distracted while finishing this review by planning for another cruise in October. :o

the bathroom surprised me!! I'm used to shelves surrounding a much larger mirror area with lights.. yours looked so small and no storage area..

The bathrooms on the Fantasy class ships are smaller than the others...but it is definitely doable and we managed to get along fine. I have a cosmetic bag that folds and then opens up and hangs on a hook with little compartments. I always take it on cruises and it comes in handy.

Paradise was my first. She was a beautiful ship then and I still love the muted wood tones. That Oasis is humongous! So adorable to see the Paradise look like the kid sister next to the other Carnival ship. Glad you had a good time.

We did have a good time and thanks. I really enjoy the smaller ships. Many more familiar faces and you don't get lost in the ship. I am glad that I had the chance to sail the Paradise, and wouldn't mind another trip if the opportunity comes again for a 5 day getaway.

Where is Captain Carnival? I've been on Paradise several times and have never seen him. Is he another passenger or what? I've seen his posts but not him! Just wondering.

He works in the cruise terminal in Tampa. He makes the announcements in the terminal....look for him next time you cruise out of Tampa. I waved to him when I was there and wasn't sure if he saw me or not...he probably tried to hide from me ;):p

Thank you for answering. We are cruising December 7 so will look for you. One of my favorite things about the Paradise is the location of Serenity deck. We get something to eat and then head for Serenity - THEN I know I am cruisung!
