Another Long Time Celebrity Cruiser Jumping Ship

When on the Equinox over Thanksgiving, the casino cashier gave us cash, less the 5% fee. Never had to mess with chips, and never played a slot. Used it to pay for our tours.

TA credit was listed as OBN...therefore just went to cage and got monies minus 5%.No chips necessary. OBR you can get from Relations. I always take monies out the first day, so if any incidentals that do go on bill, the CC company pays me in points. (Fly to cruise ship on points)

Interesting. I always thought Celebrity OBC is OBN and a Travel Agents OBC is OBR. I wonder if there is something odd about your Travel Agents OBC?

I do understand your point about not really wanting to get a credit because you want the points from you credit card company. But in my case the miles are not worth a 5% penalty.

And if life is not treating you fairly, in your opinion on Celebrity, it is definitely time for you to move on and gather some more experiences. Nothing stays the same. If I could afford to book a PH, I most likely wouldn't as there are way too many other things to do with that kind of money, in my opinion! Money doesn't make you happy, but it certainly can open all kinds of doors...it's time for a change in venue and a change in direction. Those of us who realize it before it's too late, enjoy more happiness in the years to come!

After my recent underwhelming cruise on Reflection a month ago I thought maybe I was tired of cruises. However, just off Serenade, had a great time, so I'm back to RC loyalty.

So, one more cruise on Solstice, cancel the rest, and its goodby forever to Reflection, smug CD Alexander, the blaring music, boring evenings!

All you people dissatisfied and jumping ship, Merry Christmas -- hope your grass is greener on the other side.

As a long time fan of Celebrity, we sailed our last cruise on the Infinity and will never book another Celebrity cruise again. Our first cruise with them was on the Meridian, we loved the service and the quality - we have sailed every class ship they have ever had with the Century class being our favorite. Our last three Celebrity ships have been M class ships and there was a huge difference between the Constellation earlier this year and the Infinity this fall. Celebrity has changed and not for the better.

We are Elite on Princess and love their ships and will continue to cruise with them until we just can't cruise anymore. Over the last few years my husband has developed some mobility issues and the Princess Grand and Royal class ships live really well for us. We no longer fly so cruise out of Port Everglades and cruise the Caribbean - we go for the ships and Celebrity just doesn't make the grade with us anymore. We are Elite with them and enjoy the perks - but in many instances, the perks and just the "feel" of the ship are much better on Princess - so YES - the grass is definitely greener for us!!!

The grass is much greener on the other side, and that other side is RC.

So sad that a few attitude adjustments on the part of X could make all the difference. However last X cruise made it obvious that those of us without a closet full of Evening Chic will not fit with Celebrity's future direction.

  • 3 weeks later...

My DH and I just returned home from on week on the Silhouette. I must say, the cruise was wonderful. I will write a review within the next week or so. However, the service was excellent. We were in a suite and truly enjoyed Lumine. Food excellent in the specialty restaurants, especially Lawn Grill and Bistro on Five. Our only negative comment is in regards to the porch as the new menu is only geared to those who love fish. Too bad the delicious Salads and Panini's are no longer available. The Buffet was also excellent, many choices and plenty of seating available. Martini bar was wonderful as usual!

The cruise was as close to perfection as it could be.
