OK, it's interesting, but I'd want to see the stress testing required to insure its ability to withstand rough seas. It looks lovely in those drawings with smooth-as-glass water......

I'd want to hear from shipbuilders on how this would hold up to high seas and how well it would maneuver.

 

I think there's a reason ships have always been compact and kind of pointy.

Sorry, you're right in that I should have put more info into my post. In mitigation at the time of posting I was coughing my head off (DH has kindly given me his cold) and I was worried I might not find the link again if I left it until later.

Obviously, whoever did that design doesn't know much about naval architecture. And then, there's the practical consideration of harbor limitations all over the world.

It might be viable in calm waters, but can you imagine if it hit rough seas? I get nauseous just thinking about it!

Probably would have to always tender at ports including the departure port. I can't imagine how this could dock.
