katpetal Posted January 11, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 11, 2016 Ok - I know no one REALLY knows because she hasn't sailed with Royal in a while. BUT: Looking at the dining brochure on the website (which includes her now), it looks like there may be no room service? Has anyone heard otherwise?? Scotty G Posted January 11, 2016 #4 Share Posted January 11, 2016 We all need to wait and see what transpires with Empress. No doubt all of RCI's front office departments are trying to play catchup with this very sudden change to plans.
Rare LMaxwell Posted January 11, 2016 #5 Share Posted January 11, 2016 Why would you think there wouldn't be room service? Maybe RCI doesn't understand the 'Chill' part of Party.Chill.Repeat as relates to 2016, but I would think there would be lots of RS orders onboard... On the website on the brochure for dining it has a grid that shows what restaurant is available on each ship. For the Empress it has a dot for chops, windjammer, &mdr and no dot on room service. And of course now i can't find it on my phone to get a ss (the onboard experience page wont load) and dh's computer wouldn't cooperate to take a ss last night. OfTheSeasCruiser Posted January 11, 2016 #10 Share Posted January 11, 2016 My GUESS would be that it is a mistake. I see no reason that there wouldn't be room service.
FLACRUISER99 Posted January 11, 2016 #11 Share Posted January 11, 2016 Looking around the web site "room service" is never mentioned on any Empress page. I'm OK with that.
Retired LEO Posted January 11, 2016 #12 Share Posted January 11, 2016 It seems that Empress is going to be a "No frills" party boat. No formal nights, no room service. I'm sure there'll be other things down the road.

razzinger Posted January 11, 2016 #14 Share Posted January 11, 2016 The rumor of no room service on Empress was getting personal to me! Its one of my wifes and mine favorite things on a cruise. Go to dinner, go to the casino or shows, come back to the cabin, undress and relax, and order ROOM SERVICE! So all this talk of no room service made me get to the root of the problem. I called RCL and talked to a gentleman, who assured me that ALL RCL ships have room service, at no additional charge, the only exception is for orders between midnight and 5am, where they do charge a delivery fee of $3.95. So, all is well. One rumor squashed! 999,999 more to go!!!!! For all the negative comments we read on here, someone pointed out that most people who are happy with their experience are busy planning their next cruise, those who were not are the first on here to complain! We have been on 6 cruises, and of course there are little things we did not care for, but we feel so very lucky to be there, we have never come home disappointed! At least I got my rumor from their website LOL Im excited about this one, I just like to be prepared and to know what won't be available to us so we aren't disappointed once we're there. UCF_Knight Posted January 13, 2016 #17 Share Posted January 13, 2016 I wouldn't get too excited about what a Royal Caribbean phone rep says about a ship that hasn't sailed yet in its planned configuration and mission. They are notorious for giving out incorrect information. There very well may be room service after all, but don't take the word of a phone rep as gospel at this point. Case in point: Room Service on the Anthem of the Seas is NOT $3.95. It's $4.
