Riverside Hotel (Fort Lauderdale) question

It looks like Hotwire is starting to offer a pretty good rate for what is most likely the Riverside Hotel. I know that people are always advising others to book a tower room in that hotel because they're supposed to be nicer, but with the Hotwire rate that probably isn't doable. My question is -- Are the rooms in the original part of the hotel okay? I know it's an old hotel and was wondering about the condition of those rooms. Have any of you stayed in one?

I know some people recommend the hotel, but it is really very old. I was not impressed.

The newer rooms are built on top of the parking garage and have amazing views from the Everglades to the ocean.

 

The older part of the hotel is very charming and the rooms are actually on the New River. The pool is also there.

 

Their Saturday and Sunday brunch is so lively there are always people dancing in the street. Ryan, at the back bar is my favorite bartender in Fort Lauderdale.

I booked through Hotwire and will be staying at the riverside in April. Even if old it is worth a gamble for us too see and eat in another area of Fort Lauderdale.

I also booked a room through Hotwire a couple years ago and upgraded to the Tower at check-in. I really enjoyed our stay.

it was absolutely beautiful but the breakfast was very expensive

How can you tell it's riverside on hotwire?

Have stayed here a few times and love it. Close to water taxi, beautiful water views, and Las Olas right outside your door

It should be Downtown, 3.5*. Take a look at betterbidding.com.

Just looked at Hotwire for my dates in March, and two 3.5* hotels come up for Los Olas. The Riverside has a restaurant and a nice pool and would certainly have better than a 35% approval rating, if that helps.

I actually just got it for our March 20th Cruise On Priceline for $175 Hotels that week were crazy priced. I am very happy with that as its booking at $289. :p:p
